Zwaar gewond geraakte monteur Fransesco Cigarini terug bij Ferrari

De Ferrari-monteur die tijdens de Grand Prix van Bahrein overreden werd door Kimi Raikkonen is terug in de garage van het Italiaanse team. Fransesco Cigarini was het slachtoffer van een miscommunicatie tijdens de pitstop van Kimi Raikkonen.

Gisteren had Sebastian Vettel zijn shakedown in de nieuwe Ferrari. Op het circuit van Barcelona was Cigarini aanwezig. Cigarini raakte bij het ongeluk in Bahrein ernstig gewond. Het revalidatie-proces duurde bijna één jaar. "Eerste dag in de garage sinds het ongeluk," schreef hij.

"Ik heb er veel over nagedacht de afgelopen tijd. Ik zat echt diep in de problemen maar ik ben super blij dat ik weer onderdeel uit kan maken van dit mooie team. Het is een geweldig gevoel, één gevoel van trots," Cigarini.

Één communicatiefoutje en hop, iemand een jaar uit de running. Je zou bijna gaan nadenken over sensoren die de glasklep blokkeren wanneer er iemand in de pits tussen de wielen staat.
