Tata Communications nieuwe partner ROKiT Williams

Williams kondigde Tata Communications aan als hun nieuwe Digital Transformation Partner. Het bedrijf zal zorgen voor real-time gegevensoverdracht tussen de pitlane en de Britse fabriek in Grove.

Tata Communications heeft zeven jaar ervaring in het leveren van netwerk-, hosting-, broadcast- en beveiligingsdiensten aan het Formule 1 ecosysteem. Hun infrastructuur omvat een supersnel onderzeese glasvezelnetwerk dat ongeveer 30% van de wereldwijde internetroutes vervoert.

"Tata Communications speelt een centrale rol in alle gebieden van de Formule 1 - misschien wel de meest uitdagende technologische omgeving die er is', aldus Claire Williams, teambaas van het gelijknamige team.

"We hebben gekozen voor Tata Communications als nieuwe partner vanwege de diepgaande kennis van het Formule 1-ecosysteem en de unieke technologische vereisten. We weten dat we erop kunnen vertrouwen dat Tata Communications elke raceweekend, waar dan ook ter wereld, lan leveren."

Managing Director van Tata Communications Mehal Kapadia gaf ook commentaar op de nieuwe samenwerking: "Sinds 2012 is de rol van Tata Communications in de Formule 1 blijven groeien en we zijn er ontzettend trots op dat we nu samen mogen werken met een van de meest iconische teams in de paddock. Ons doel is om het volledige potentieel van digitale transformatie in de live sport te benutten door organisaties als ROKiT Williams Racing in staat te stellen om de kracht van onze technologische mogelijkheden te benutten."

Naast de Formule 1 biedt Tata Communications hun diensten aan aan MotoGP en The European Tour. Met name de laatste (de grootste Europese Golf Tour) is een goede benchmark voor het bedrijf. Sinds Tata Communications haar intrede heeft gedaan in de Golfsport in Europa heeft de sport een enorme boost gekregen. Tata Communications heeft een enorm platform met data, virtual en augmented reality en 360 graden video kunnen introduceren. Hierdoor is de kijker nog meer 'connected' met de gehele experience tijdens de uitzendingen.

Deze deal is laat rond gekomen. Tata stond al op de RoKiT Williams vrachtwagens tijdens de test. Enkel afgeplakt. Mooie opsteker. Dat zeker.

  Klopt Beri, maar we zaten met een soort van 'embargo' en dat willen we natuurlijk niet verbreken. Eerlijkheid duurt in deze wereld nog altijd het langst. Maar je bent in elk geval 'spot on'. Het was ons ook al opgevallen.

persoonlijk denk ik dat Williams de weg naar boven dit jaar gaat inzetten! althans dat is mijn hardgrondige wens, het is een iconisch team en het zou een ramp zijn als ze verdwijnen !
