Ted Kravitz nieuwe host Sky Sports Midweek Show

Sky Sports-journalist Ted Kravitz zal een nieuwe show gaan presenteren op Sky Sports. Kravitz, bekend van zijn Notebook en activiteiten in de pitsstraat, werd tijdens de wintertests pas behouden als onderdeel van het Formule 1-team van Sky.

De nieuwe show zal technische analyses bevatten en is elke woensdag te zien gedurende het Grand Prix-seizoen. De eerste show staat gepland op 20 maart om 18.00 uur Engelse tijd. Tijdens de eerste show van het seizoen zal hij geassisteerd worden door Rob Smedley. Smedley werkte in het verleden voor Williams en Ferrari.

Deze winter leek het erop dat Kravitz het veld zou gaan ruimen bij Sky Sports, nadat hij en producer Scott Young van inzicht verschilden over de rol die de presentator zou gaan spelen in de uitzendingen. Uiteindelijk werd tussen de twee testweken in bevestigd dat Kravitz onderdeel zou blijven van het presentatieteam van Sky. Destijds bleef nog onduidelijk in welke hoedanigheid hij betrokken zou blijven bij de Formule 1-producties van het Britse netwerk.

Sky Sports presenteerde deze winter ook een hoop aanwinsten. Wereldkampioenen Nico Rosberg en Jenson Button werden door de betaalzender aangetrokken als analisten. Tegelijkertijd werd ook Karun Chandhok teruggehaald door Sky: hij was de afgelopen jaren nog werkzaam voor Channel 4, dat in 2019 alleen de Britse Grand Prix live uit zal zenden.

  Ted was in eerste instantie volledig geschrapt. Nadat veel kijkers en fans hadden opgeroepen hem toch te behouden hebben ze dit voor hem bedacht. Met Ted niet meer in de hoofdrol lijkt het in ieder geval zeker op een afvloeiingsregeling.
