Mark Webber mordicus tegen kunstmatige regenraces

Red Bull Racing-rijder Mark Webber voelt weinig voor het idee van Bernie Ecclestone om tijdens sommige races de banen kunstmatig nat te maken. De commerciële baas van de Formule 1 ziet in kunstmatige regenraces een mogelijkheid om het spektakel te vergroten.

Op de vragen van BBC of de sport zulke maatregelen nodig heeft en of hij er voorstander van is, antwoordde Webber: “Nee en nee. Dit is geen verfijnde manier om de show en het entertainment te verbeteren, hier sta ik niet achter.”

    Ik zeg, Webber voor FIA-president na zijn carrière. Hij is op, helder en duidelijk. Daarnaast heeft hij wel een reële kijk op het racen.

    Mee eens. Met de beweegbare achtervleugel is F1 dit seizoen al nepper dan de gehele Amerikaanse racescene bij elkaar. En met dit voorstel zou het een nog groter circus worden.

    Dat gezever over die kunstmatige regenraces begint ook onderhand een hype te worden.Maar desondanks geef ik Mark Webber gelijk.

    Formule 1 begon ooit als een georganiseerd zooitje mannen met een ego en een droom om de snelste te zijn. Hoe maakte niet uit. Daar kwam men op af en wilde men naar kijken. Nu is het een georganiseerd zooitje marketingafdelingen die zoveel mogelijk publiek moeten trekken om zo bedrijven tevreden te houden. Dat wil men niet zien. Dus bedenken ze nog radicalere dingen om mensen te trekken.

    Waarom niet gewoon teruggaan naar wat petrolheads die ten koste van alles hard willen rijden?

    Wanneer begint de FIA en Bernie en de FOM dit nou eens in te zien?
    Weg met alle gadgets en andere vernuft en gewoon weer racen.

    ja het wordt allemaal wel heel erg fake he....Men vergeet het racen. alsof Nokia of Apple ofzo een nieuw mobieltje ontwikkelt waar 1001 gadgets op zitten maar waar men de belfunctie is vergeten. Men is de primaire zaak uit het oog verloren.
    door alle aanpassingen en regels en nieuwe truukjes is het racen zelf totaal ondergesneeuwd. de truukjes en regeltjes heben het racen tot lijdend voorwerp gedegradeerd. ben \'t daar ook erg mee eens.
    mark webber in een belangrijke FIA functie na zijn carriere zou ik trouwens heel erg oke vinden.

    Ik weet het niet hoor maar, stel een race is enorm saai, ik val bijna in slaap en dan ineens een waarschuwing voor een natte baan. Dus gewoon de baan of een deel daarvan, even flink nat maken en dan onder de schijnende zon op te laten drogen. Hmmm,.. of een halfuur, voor het einde, als de baan weer droog is, weer nat maken.... Ik denk niet, dat het de bedoeling is, om de sproeiers aan te laten. Ik vind het een uitstekend alternatief voor saaie races.

    Doe het nou niet . . . wie houdt er nou van regen! Lang leve de wisselvalligheid van het weer in dit geval voor de F1 is mijn mening.

    Kunstmatige regenraces zullen ook niks veranderen. Wat een regenrace zo \&quot;spannend\&quot; maakt is dat het onvoorspelbaar is. Een kunstmatige regenrace is niks anders dan een race op een natte baan. Iedereen gooit dezelfde bandjes erop, iedereen hanteert een gelijke strategie en ze gaan gewoon weer treintje rijden.
