Mick Schumacher zegt dat hij de hype rond zijn Formule 1-debuut aankan.Ferrari en Alfa Romeo Racing hebben inmiddels bevestigd dat de 20-jarige zoon van Formule 1-legende Michael Schumacher volgende week voor beide teams op opeenvolgende dagen in Bahrein zal testen.

Schumacher zei dat hij alle hype aankan: "Het is voor mij precies hetzelfde zoal het altijd is geweest", vertelde hij aan Kolner Express. "Als je iemand neemt die er niet aan gewend is en hem in mijn positie plaats, zou het misschien anders zijn. Ik heb de tijd gehad om er naar toe te groeien en dat heeft mij enorm geholpen."

Zijn oom, Ralf Schumacher, has graag gezien dat de opkomst van Mick op het hoogtepunt van de autosport iets rustiger zou zijn. "Het zou een beetje meer onstspannen voor hem moeten zijn en men zou hem eerst moeten laten ontwikkelen", vertelde de voormalig Williams, Jordan en Toyota-coureur aan het persbureay DPA. Ralf wenste zijn neef al het goede voor zijn Formule 2 debuut in Bahrein dit weekend. "Hij bewees zijn potentieel met een Europees Formule 3-kampioenschap, maar in de Formule 2 begint alles weer vanaf nul," vertelde Ralf.

Schumacher is niet zo goed als Vandoorne

"De druk op Mick Schumacher is ontzettend hoog", zegt de Belgische oud Formule 1-testrijder Bas Leinders. "Als hij dit seizoen een goede prestatie neerzet is er een kans dat hij in 2020 in de Formule 1 zit."

"Hij is duidelijk goed en hij kan zich in de beste omstandigheden ontwikkelen. Dit komt mede door zijn naam en het budget wat ermee gepaard gaat", vertelde Leinders aan de collega's van Sporza. "Ik denk niet dat Mick Schumacher zo goed is als Stoffel Vandoorne, ook al krijgt hij meer kansen en meer middelen", sloot Leinders af.

Hype?? als het al een hype is dan is die gecreerd door de FIA en LM ! en door dit soort suggestieve berichtgeving! het is gewoon een kwestie van zieltjes winnen met name de Duiste zieltjes en ook globaal om zijn achternaam niks meer of minder! zelden heb ik zoveel tromgeroffel en pushen gezien al... Iedereen word kampioen bij prema in de f3 .
Laat het eerst maar zien in de f2 daar is de kompetie veel groter begrijp ook niet waarom er zo'n sfeer hangt rond hem ze hadden ook niks kunnen zeggen en hem gewoon in de auto zetten met de testdag was een stuk rustiger geweest voor hem.
Bij Ferrari lijkt het net of de nieuwe Messi van de F1 achter het stuur gaat zitten.

Hype?? als het al een hype is dan is die gecreerd door de FIA en LM ! en door dit soort suggestieve berichtgeving! het is gewoon een kwestie van zieltjes winnen met name de Duiste zieltjes en ook globaal om zijn achternaam niks meer of minder! zelden heb ik zoveel tromgeroffel en pushen gezien als bij hem! iedere dag wel een item wat vergroot uitgelicht wordt al ware het de Messiah zelfe

  Als je Mick's resultaten er tegenover zet, had hij iets meer tijd nodig om op snelheid te komen. Maar ja, dit is een rationeel antwoord op iemand die graag Stoffel-fans wil uitdagen tot emotionele uitbarstingen. Ik zou eigenlijk beter moeten weten ik weet het :p
