Raikkonen positief over volgen van andere auto's

Kimi Raikkonen is positief over de wijzigingen in het reglement van dit jaar. Dit jaar kregen de Formule 1-auto's een aerodynamische ingreep om het volgen van andere auto's makkelijker te maken. Deze wijziging zou ervoor moeten zorgen dat inhalen gemakkelijker zal worden. Het inhalen is inderdaad iets makkelijker dan in 2018, maar dat heeft mede te maken met de wijzigingen in de 'DRS-Formule'.

De Finse coureur merkt dat hij tegenwoordig simpelere auto's kan volgen. Meerdere coureurs hebben inmiddels aangegeven dat het volgen makkelijker is, maar men blijft erbij dat inhalen een probleem blijft.

Raikkonen werd zevende in Bahrein en zat gedurende een gedeelte van de race vast achter Lando Norris. "Ik denk dat het dichterbij elkaar zit. De exit uit de bochten zijn nog steeds lastig, maar je komt wel aan het einde van de bochten dichterbij. We komen dichterbij, inhalen is nog steeds moeilijk, maar het vergroot wel de kansen", vertelde de Finse Alfa Romeo Racing-coureur.

Lewis Hamilton heeft een totaal andere mening dan Raikkonen: "Voor het volgen maakt het geen verschil. Het is nog steeds verschrikkelijk", zei de Mercedes-coureur.

    Alles kruipt dichter naar elkaar toe buiten de top 3 en Williams. ik geniet echt van dat middenveld hopelijk kunnen ze snel aansluiten en dan is het 1 grote loterij wie er punten gaat pakken.

    Gewoon erg interessant nu , met de Haas, de Alfa, McLaren, Renault, STR, hopelijk kan Force Stroll en Williams ook nog aansluiting vinden.... Of dat verder veel met de iets andere aero te maken heeft, de ene coureur vindt het wel , de ander niet...

    Dat het effect heeft gehad, dat ziet toch iedereen neem ik aan?

    Vorig jaar konden ze amper binnen 2 seconden van elkaar rijden en nu zie je ze lange tijd binnen de seconde komen. Na een ronde of 3 is dat wel voorbij, want dan zijn de ronde rubbers te heet, maar dan moet je al eerder je kans pakken.

      @Magverslappen; het zal, ik zie het niet..., ik zie alleen dat de auto's met goed chassis de auto's met een minder chassis kunnen volgen, maar dat was altijd al zo. Bij de topteams maakt het geen zak uit; in een Ferrari kom je een Mercedes niet voorbij en andersom ook niet. Dat lukt alleen door under- of overcuts en afwijkende strategieën. Of denk jij dat Bottas ook maar een seconde heeft geloofd dat ie Hamilton in ging halen gisteren? Of dat gejammer van de Ferrari boys 'I'm quicker then Seb/Charles".
      Die factor banden is veel te belangrijk en die krengen zijn ook nog veel te gevoelig voor een window waarin ze aan - of uitschakelen.
