Raikkonen: "Alfa Romeo wist na China al van probleem met voorvleugel"

Kimi Raikkonen werd vanochtend uit de kwalificatie voor de Grand Prix van Azerbeidzjan geschrapt, omdat zijn voorvleugel niet aan de reglementen voldeed. Hij meent dat Alfa Romeo twee weken geleden in China al op de hoogte was van problemen met de vleugel.

De naam van Raikkonen werd zondag uit de uitslag van de kwalificatie geschrapt, omdat tijdens een keuring gebleken was dat de voorvleugel van de Alfa Romeo niet voldeed aan artikel 3.9.8 van de technische reglementen. In dat artikel staat dat de flaps van de voorvleugel 'niet meer dan 5 millimeter mogen doorbuigen als er een kracht van 60 Newton op uitgeoefend wordt'.

Voorvleugel in China al kapot

Raikkonen werd bestraft met een start vanuit de pitstraat, maar na een prima race kwam de Fin als tiende over de meet. "Ik weet niet wat er gebeurd is. Ik kreeg vanochtend een bericht", vertelde Raikkonen na de race over het probleem met zijn voorvleugel. Volgens de wereldkampioen van 2007 stamt het probleem al uit de race in China.

"De vorige race had ik aan het eind van de race een probleem met een gebroken steun op de voorvleugel. Daardoor verloren we downforce. Waarschijnlijk is dat probleem hiervan de oorzaak. We kenden het probleem na de vorige race, maar we hadden geen tijd om een nieuwe te produceren. Dit is dan het gevolg. Het maakt ons absoluut niet sneller, maar het is zoals het is."

Raikkonen scoorde in Bakoe voor de vierde race op rij punten voor Alfa Romeo. De Fin staat na vier races samen met Pierre Gasly en Sergio Perez op de zesde positie in het kampioenschap. Allen hebben ze dertien punten verzameld.

of anders gezegd. Het loopt niet zoals verwacht bij Ferrari en Alfa moet als B-team maar zaken gaan testen die op de limiet vh reglement zitten.

  Beetje slordig, zeker als het al bekend was dat de vleugel niet aan de regelementen voldeed.

Voor mij staat dit seizoen Baku in het licht van verliezers: Trieste vertoning in VT1, blijkbaar geen grip op de situatie. Een weekend met als hoogtepunten het straffen. Wat probeert de FIA te bewijzen? Wat proberen de stewards te bewijzen? De grootste strijd vind denk ik nu op de achtergrond plaats. Het wachten is op een nieuwe Charlie, anders zijn er straks alleen maar verliezers, ben ik bang

Die had gezegd : regel dit voor de volgende race.
Dit ook met Gasly zijn fuel flow.
2 diskwalificaties in 1 weekend is wel beetje veel van het goede
