'Ferrari kan veto uitspreken tegen benoeming Wolff als CEO Formule 1'

Een eventuele benoeming van Toto Wolff als CEO van de Formula One Group kan tegengehouden worden door Ferrari. De Scuderia heeft een veto waarmee het een stokje kan steken voor de komst van de huidige teambaas van Mercedes naar het management van de sport.

Woensdag bracht GPToday.net naar buiten dat Wolff in de race is om Chase Carey op te volgen als de CEO van de Formula One Group. De teambaas van Mercedes en de huidige CEO van Liberty Media zijn beiden in het bezit van een contract dat eind 2020 afloopt. Wolff lijkt niet op één lijn te zitten met toekomstig Mercedes CEO Ola Källenius en geniet bovendien hoog aanzien binnen Liberty, de eigenaar van de Formule 1.

Wolff in moeilijkheden door aandelen en functie bij Mercedes

De benoeming van Wolff als CEO van de Formule 1 zou echter tegengehouden kunnen worden door Ferrari, dat momenteel de grote concurrent is van het Mercedes van Wolff. Volgens journalist Christian Sylt van SportsMoney heeft Ferrari hoe dan ook een vinger in de pap bij de benoeming van de toekomstige directie van de Formule 1.

"De Formule 1 moet geschreven toestemming krijgen van Ferrari voor de benoeming van een persoon als onze CEO als deze persoon in de afgelopen vijf jaar een rol in de directie of een belang van minimaal 5 procent heeft gehad in een team of fabrikant die leverancier is van een team", meldt Sylt in zijn artikel voor Forbes.

Dit scenario zou moeilijkheden veroorzaken voor Wolff. De Oostenrijker bekleedt momenteel als teambaas van Mercedes een hoge functie binnen een Formule 1-team. Daarnaast is hij ook voor 30 procent eigenaar van de Formule 1-onderneming van de Duitse fabrikant. Mocht Liberty Wolff daadwerkelijk willen benoemen tot CEO, dan zal er volgens Sylt eerst toestemming gevraagd moeten worden aan Ferrari.

Ferrar zal enkel toestemming geven als Toto elk belang in Mercedes opgeeft maar dan nog zegt dat niks. Toto kan zijn belangen “opgeven” door ze via een ingewikkelde constructie elders onder te brengen.
Het zou mij niet onlogisch lijken als Ferrari haar veto uitspreekt.
Maar goed, Brawn en Todt waren ook Ferrari mannen en kwamen evengoed bij de FIA en Liberty terecht terwijl Brawn op het laatst zelfs een Mercedes man was.
Zelf denk ik dat Toto een geschikte man zou zijn die de functie integer kan bekleden. Maar ik zou het ook begrijpen als de Italianen daar iets minder vertrouwen in hebben en een veto uitspreken.

  Voor hetzelfde geld heeft Ferrari er geen problemen mee en projecteer jij nu jouw verwachtingen als waarheid.
  
  Het zullen regels zijn uit de tijd van Bernie. Die had zelf in bepaalde periodes ook aandelen in teams. Ik kan me opzich wel voorstellen dat Ferrari daar niet blij mee is, maar of ze daarom zijn benoeming zouden tegenhouden vraag ik me ook af

  Zo'n constructie hoeft helemaal niet 'ingewikkeld' te zijn. Oud-premier en wijlen Ruud Lybbers en Annamarie Jorristma van de VVD brachten destijds aandelen onder bij een administratiekantoor. Op papier klopte dat dus, maar je dacht toch niet echt dat het administratiekantoor ook maar iets kon beslissen zonder toestemming van die twee. Schijnconstructies zijn het!

  Je kunt het ook omdraaien, zou er een totaal F1 onbekende persoon moeten gaan zitten, zoals dat nu het geval was? Dat heeft niet bijster veel gebracht.
  
  Ross Brwlawn is met zijn Ferrari verleden al een mooie counterweight volgens mij als sportief directeur.
  
  Verder is de kans aanwezig dat Toto in elk geval zijn huidige functie neerlegt. Dan is het mooi dat hij op deze manier voor de sport behouden blijft.

Om toch nog maar een beetje in de Italiaanse stijl te blijven, het is 1 grote corrupte zooi, en daarom wordt het ook nooit iets meer. grote veranderingen zijn niet mogelijk, te veel lui hebben veel te veel macht, zo zal de F1 ook eindigen over een aantal jaren.

  F1 is al een hele tijd aan het doodbloeden, buiten Nederland dan. Ik verwacht dat F1 tegen 2030 opgedoekt is, of een heel ander iets gaat worden (gestandariseerde onderdelen oid).

Snap wel welke kant sommige van jullie op willen, maar de vergelijking tussen de aanstelling van Todt als voorzitter van de FIA en de evt toekomstig positie van Wolff als CEO bij Liberty gaat natuurlijk wel een beetje mank.
Ferrari's laatste titel is uit 2008 en dan zou de FIA op hand van Ferrari zijn?
Met zulke vrienden heb je geen vijanden nodig lijkt me.
