Sebastian Vettel: "Wij komen wat snelheid tekort"

Ferrari-coureur Sebastian Vettel behaalde in China en Azerbeidzjan een derde plaats. Met de derde plaats van Charles Leclerc in Bahrein is Ferrari dit seizoen nog niet hoger gefinisht dan derde. Reden voor de Italiaanse media om vraagtekens te zetten bij het ontwerp van de auto. Sebastian Vettel heeft vertrouwen bij de aanvang van de Europese-cyclus.

De Italiaanse-renstal neemt voor de Grand Prix van Spanje een nieuwe motor mee en heeft verder nog een aantal aerodynamische en mechanische updates in petto: "We hopen om de auto te verbeteren. We hebben al wat kleine onderdelen meegebracht voor de race in Baku. We hebben ook nieuwe onderdelen voor hier. We waren op zich wel snel, maar helaas niet snel genoeg. We hebben niet de snelheid gehad om de auto op de eerste rij te zetten."

Vettel is zich ervan bewust dat de Ferrari op dit moment snelheid tekort komt: "We komen wat snelheid tekort. Over het algemeen is ons pakket goed en hoop ik dat we alles voor elkaar kunnen krijgen om een goed resultaat te boeken."

Ferrari wil het gevecht naar Mercedes brengen

De Duitser vertelde dat de sfeer in het team nog steeds goed is: "Elk jaar is anders. Zoals ik al vertelde is de sfeer in het team goed. Ik kijk er naar uit om deze Grand Prix te rijden. We hebben veel vertrouwen in de onderdelen die we hebben meegenomen, daarnaast introduceren wij ook onze nieuwe motor hier. We hebben nog wat spullen die we introduceren, deze moeten er voor zorgen dat wij sterker voor de dag komen dan tijdens de andere races."

"In vergelijking met vorig jaar zaten we er toen beter bij. We hadden al een aantal races gewonnen en stonden bovenaan in het kampioenschap", sloot de viervoudig wereldkampioen af.

het gevecht naar Mercedes brengen?? iedereen die een beetje Engels spreekt zal dat wel begrijpen, maar voor wie wordt er dan eigenlijk nog vertaald? zinloos op deze manier.

Had toch stiekem wel gehoopt dat die 80 kilo regel voor wat opschudding zou hebben gezorgd in de grid. Max, zou je verwachten, had dan toch wat in moeten lopen op een Hamilton, die waarschijnlijk toch een paar kilo zwaarder was.

  Volgens mij krijg je dan een pak lood in de auito tot een bepaald gewicht totaal, en heeft dat dus geen invloed. Ik kan het ook mis hebben natuurlijk.

  @RBH1 @Cherokkee Dan moet Max toch inlopen... basic maths.. Stel Hamilton was 68 kilo en Max 70 kilo en dat gewicht wordt aangevuld tot 80 kilo, dan heeft Max 2 kilo winst t.o.v. Hamilton dit jaar...

Als je als rijder het gewicht niet haalt moet je gewicht inde aanbrengen op de plaats door de fia vastgelegd en nergens anders, dus is het erom te doe dit gewicht zoveel mogelijk te benaderen, uw gewicht zit nl in het midden van de wagen en laag tegen de grond dat verbetert de wegligging en de gewichtsverdeling van de wagen
