Het overlijden van Niki Lauda heeft veel teams ertoe bewogen om een eerbetoon aan de legende te publiceren. GPToday.net heeft hiervan een overzicht gemaakt. Naar verwachting zullen gedurende het raceweekend meer teams volgen.

Mercedes

Het team van Mercedes heeft een speciaal roodgekleurde ster op de engine cover en "Danke Niki" op de neus van de ‘Silberpfeilen’ geplakt:

Leclerc

De Monegask heeft speciaal voor zijn thuis Grand Prix een helm ontworpen die niet Niki Lauda, maar personen die dichterbij hem stonden eert. Leclerc heeft zijn helm in tweeën gesplitst. Aan de ene kant heeft hij een eerbetoon voor Jules Bianchi, aan de andere kant heeft hij een eerbetoon voor zijn vader geplaatst.

Laudamotion

Ook Laudamotion plaatste een eerbetoon aan Niki Lauda. Op de raampjes was een tekst voor Niki te vinden:

Ik zit dit zo door te scrollen, laat aan mn vriendin zien wat ToroRosso deed en lees het ‘Danke Niki’ voor en ook de afbeelding bij RedBull en wil vervolgens laten zien wat Mercedes deed met die ene rode ster... en ineens stokt mn adem. Ik kon het niet uitspreken. Bizar hoe dit toch zo recht in mn emotie blijft zitten. Kmoest er echt n paar wegpinken..

  Ik kan me dat ook niet voorstellen. Reden dat ik het benoem is omdat in het artikel er wel gesproken word over een van de rijders van Ferrari dat die wel iets doet in het kader van twee dierbare.
  
  Had dus verwacht dat er iets erbij zou staan over of Ferrari wel of niet iets zou doen.

  Vettel rijdt ook met een andere helm, zijn standard witte helm met de duitse vlag er op is vervangen door een rode.
