Nederlandse Grand Prix vanaf 2020 gratis te zien via Ziggo

Formule 1-fans die geen kaartje voor de Nederlandse Grand Prix kunnen bemachtigen en geen abonnement bij Ziggo hebben, kunnen de race van 2020 toch gratis zien. Dat heeft de kabelaar bekend gemaakt.

De Formule 1 zit in Nederland sinds 2013 achter een betaalmuur. Daar waar de NOS, RTL en SBS in het verleden de uitzendrechten hadden, zijn die sinds 2013 in handen van Sport1, dat later over is gegaan in Ziggo Sport. In de eerste jaren van de samenwerking moesten liefhebbers verplicht een abonnement nemen op dat extra zenderpakket. In 2017 besloot Ziggo om de races ook op het open kanaal van Ziggo Sport uit te zenden.

Nederlandse Grand Prix altijd op open kanaal

Dat open kanaal van Ziggo is echter alleen beschikbaar voor de abonnees van de kabelaar en dus niet voor mensen die bij KPN of een andere provider zitten. Voor de Nederlandse Grand Prix maakt Ziggo echter graag een uitzondering, zo vertelde directeur Will Moeren. Hij vindt dat het evenement voor de hele Nederlandse bevolking te zien moet zijn.

"De populariteit van de Formule 1 in Nederland is groter dan ooit. Dit zien we ook terug in de recordaantallen kijkers. Met de komst van de Grand Prix naar Zandvoort komt de wereld van de Formule 1 nog dichterbij. Heel Nederland leeft nu al massaal mee. Van zo’n uniek Nederlands evenement moet iedereen kunnen genieten."

Niet alleen de Nederlandse Grand Prix van 2020 zal voor alle Nederlanders te zien zijn. Ook de edities van 2021 en 2022 zullen gegarandeerd opengesteld worden door Ziggo Sport en dat geldt ook voor de jaren daarna, mocht het contract tussen Zandvoort en de Formule 1 verlengd worden.

  @Tonrossi, je hoeft dus juist geen klant te zijn van ZIggo , afbellen! voordat je het weet zit je er een jaar aan vast.
  
  Er loopt hier geen Coax kabel meer door het huis en die komen er ook niet. Ziggo is dus zozie al geen optie (bewuste keuze trouwens)

  MCL34, met ziggo go kan je gewoon overal waar een vorm van snel internet is kijken. En een aantal zenders van ziggo kan je ook terugkijken. (Weet niet zeker of dat met alle zenders kan omdat ik amper tv kijk.)
  Je hebt dus geen kabel nodig. Je hebt snel internet nodig.

  @MCL34: Je hebt keuzevrijheid en je hoeft er geen jaar aan vast te zitten als je maar duidelijke afspraken maakt met Ziggo/Vodafoon het zijn de updates die in de nacht uitgevoerd worden dan ligt Ziggo er een paar uurtjes uit om Ziggo voor de toekomst beter te kunnen laten werken.
  Voorheen had ik UPC wat overgegaan is naar Ziggo met beide providers nog geen problemen mee ondervonden. Kabel is sneller dan ADSL.

Is volgens mij ook een Nederlandse mediawet die zegt dat grote sportevenementen die in eigen land worden gehouden op het open net te zien moeten zijn voor iedereen. Vandaar dat de NOS nog wel eens de TT in Assen live mocht uitzenden terwijl ze allang de rechten niet meer hadden. Sinds Eurosport de MotoGP weer uitzend zend de NOS de TT dus niet meer uit omdat het al op het open net te zien is.

  Klopt helemaal! Maar officieel staat de Nederlandse Grand Prix F1 daar nog niet op.
  
  De kans dat het wel gaat gebeuren is levensgroot. Het is daarom slim van Ziggo dat ze dit nu al op deze manier omzeilen. Klinkt toch weer sympathieker dan dat ze dat achteraf moeten doen.

  Alsof Ziggo de enige is die de prijzen regelmatig omhoog schroeft.
  Voor het zoveelste jaar achter elkaar doet KPN/Xs4all precies hetzelfde en er zullen nog wel meer providers zijn die het doen

  Ziggo zegt dat ze dit doen voor alle Nederlanders, ze doen het echter om niet-abonnees te lokken. Hun goedrecht, maar ze doen het dus om de centen.

  Je hebt nu wel glasvezel wat het internetten met 50% aan mb verhoogd zonder prijsverhoging. Het tarief van
  ZIggo wordt aangepast, maar daar heb je ook wat voor, waar geen enkele provider in Nederland niet aan kan tippen. @avengel; Gun je mede forumlid kijker ook hun race, daardoor ontstaan wel leuke reacties na de race op dit forum.
