Pierre Gasly scoorde tijdens de Grand Prix van Monaco zijn beste resultaat in dienst van Red Bull Racing met een vijfde plaats. Tevens reed de coureur van Red Bull Racing voor de tweede keer dit seizoen de snelste ronde van de race.

Tijdens de race had Gasly de ruimte om een tweede pitstop te maken en zijn vijfde plaats niet uit handen te geven. Red Bull stuurde de Fransman met een set zachte banden naar buiten in een poging het extra punt voor de snelste ronde te pakken. Die opzet slaagde, want in ronde 72 reed Gasly een 1:14.279. Dat was ruimschoots voldoende om het punt voor de neus van Valtteri Bottas weg te graaien.
