Misschien wel het bekendste stukje van het Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is de muur bij het uitkomen van de laatste chicane van het circuit. Sinds 1999 gaat dat muurtje door het leven als Wall of Champions.

De reden dat die muur tegenwoordig zo door het leven gaat, is een drietal crashes die er gebeurden in het seizoen 1999. Drie wereldkampioenen crashten uit de Grand Prix van Canada dat seizoen, nadat ze hun auto na de laatste chicane in de muur parkeerden. Dat waren Damon Hill, Michael Schumacher en Jacques Villeneuve.

In de jaren daarna zijn ook een aantal (latere) kampioenen tegen de Wall of Champions geëindigd. Zo raakte Jenson Button de muur in 2005, terwijl Sebastian Vettel hetzelfde deed in 2011.
