'Budgetplafond tussen 2021 en 2025 op 175 miljoen dollar'

Er lijkt langzaam maar zeker wat duidelijkheid te komen rond de reglementen voor 2021. Zo zou er inmiddels een voorstel voor een budgetplafond zijn voor de periode 2021-2025, waarbij de teams ieder jaar 175 miljoen dollar mogen uitgeven.

De discussies over een budgetplafond zijn al meer dan tien jaar oud, maar in de periode dat de reglementen voor 2021 bepaald moeten worden, laaiden de gesprekken erover weer op. Ruim veertien maanden is er gepraat over hoe hoog een eventueel plafond zou moeten worden, maar volgens Auto, Motor und Sport is er nu duidelijkheid. De teams zouden een mail ontvangen hebben van de FIA met een voorstel van 175 miljoen dollar.

De FIA en Liberty Media, de commerciële rechtenhouder van de Formule 1, leken in eerste instantie aan te willen sturen op een strikter plafond, dat op 130 miljoen dollar zou liggen. Vooral de grote teams zullen daartegen met succes geprotesteerd hebben, want het uiteindelijke voorstel ligt dus zo'n 45 miljoen dollar hoger. Vanaf het derde jaar zal het bedrag tevens gecorrigeerd worden om de inflatie op te vangen.

Salaris coureurs en motordeals niet bij plafond inbegrepen

Een ander voordeel voor de grote teams is dat het budgetplafond niet voor alle zaken zal gelden. Zo worden de salarissen van de coureurs niet meegeteld in de berekeningen, evenals de reiskosten die de teams betalen om naar de Grands Prix te gaan. Een laatste categorie uitgaven die niet meetelt voor het budgetplafond is die voor de levering van motoren. Een teambaas van een kleiner team verwacht dan ook dat de totale uitgaven in een seizoen daardoor zo richting de 250 miljoen dollar kunnen lopen.

Ook lijkt er helderheid te zijn over de manier waarop er gecontroleerd gaat worden. De teams hebben vrije keuze uit een accountantskantoor dat de controle gaat uitvoeren, maar de FIA moet wel toestemming geven voor die keuze. De straffen voor overtredingen van het budgetplafond zijn hoog. De teambaas kan zijn licentie verliezen, waardoor hij nooit meer in een FIA-kampioenschap mag werken. Tevens kan een team haar punten en prijzengeld verliezen.

En dat moet zo zoetjes aan maar eens afgelopen zijn. Dan gaan ze maar niet akkoord en verlaten ze het speelveld maar. Dat constant maar naar de pijpen dansen van wat teams willen frustreert de sport alleen maar.

En het toverwoord in de bovengenoemde zin is 'kan', eerst zeggen we 'foei', een keer of 4 :)

Whoa, iedereen die van dichtbij meegemaakt heeft hoe een accountants verklaring tot stand komt weet dat dat dus een wasse neus is. Zeker bij de grootte jongens die gemakkelijk tussen verschillende r&d teams kunnen schuiven.

  Gezichts verlies gaat enorm zijn wanneer je de boel opzettelijk belazerd, het is maar in hoeverre je daartoe bereid bent.
  Fraude komt vroeg of laat altijd aan het licht, vraag maar aan Lance Armstrong, of het VAG concern....;)

  Een accountants verklaring is inderdaad wel heilig te noemen. Ook deze worden ge-audit en voor dit soort bedrijven geldt niet strike 2 of 3 your out. Bij de eerste serieuze fout lig je er voor je hele leven uit.
  Dus ja, als een bepaald bureau zijn certificaten heeft, zal hij daar heilig mee omgaan. Het is geen auto apk station of zo.

  Wat een onzin, dit is allemaal prima te controleren door accountants en er zijn voldoende prikkels ingebouwd om dit geen wassen neus te laten zijn.

  Die gingen al niet akkoord bij 130 milj dollar, ze kunnen natuurlijk niet door blijven gaan met weigeren.
  Ze weten al jaren dat er een budget plafond aankomt.
  Dan weten ze ook dat het niet in de buurt komt van wat ze nu uitgeven.

Zou graag eens de begroting van de F1 teams willen zien. Denk dat het weer een wassen neus wordt, sommige teams hebben 250 man personeel de andere 500 tot 700 maar die kunnen al dat meerdere personeel weer toeschrijven aan motor ontwikkeling zodat het niet mee telt. Zo valt dat dure motor home van Red Bull natuurlijke onder reis en verblijfskosten en telt het niet mee. Benzine is natuurlijk gratis en valt onder sponsoring. Geloof me het wordt nu een handig spelletje kosten toedelen aan uitzonderingsposten. Er veranderd niks!
