Carey staat achter uitstel reglementen 2021: "Beter goed dan gehaast handelen"

De bekendmaking van de reglementen voor het seizoen 2021 werd afgelopen week uitgesteld tot oktober. Het is een besluit waar FIA-president Jean Todt tevreden mee was en dat geldt ook voor Chase Carey, de CEO van de Formule 1.

De internationale autosportbond FIA wilde graag dat de bekendmaking van de reglementen voor 2021, die gepland stond voor deze maand, uitgesteld werd naar oktober. Op die manier zou de bond meer tijd krijgen om de reglementen helemaal te optimaliseren. Tegen ServusTV verklaarde Carey dat ook de complexiteit van de reglementen daar een rol in spelen. "We zijn een mondiale sport, dus er is veel dat overwogen moet worden."

Bespreking in Parijs over 'verbeteringen voor de fans'

Carey onthulde ook wat er afgelopen week besproken werd tijdens een ontmoeting in Parijs, waarbij alle betrokkenen en meerdere coureurs aanwezig waren. "Het ging daar over hoe de Formule 1 eruit moet zien en hoe het verbeterd kan worden voor de fans. Na gesprekken met de teams en de FIA werd geconcludeerd dat het logisch was om meer tijd te nemen voor de reglementen voor 2021 en daarna. We nemen dus de tijd tot oktober. Het is beter om correct dan gehaast te handelen."

Een voorstel van Helmut Marko is het verbieden van radiocontact tussen auto en pitmuur. Carey: "We hebben een hele lijst aanbevelingen, van A tot Z. We waarderen de suggesties, ongeacht of die van fans of teams komen. Welke dingen we uiteindelijk gaan implementeren, is nog onduidelijk. Er is een lijst van meerdere pagina's waar we ons nu punt voor punt doorheen aan het werken zijn."

Prima idee, doe maar, laat rijder maar uitvogelen wat het beste is. Alleen een knop voor melden dat die binnenkomt voor pitstop, brandblusser en drinken.

Dus alle toeters en bellen van het stuur, 1 motor afstelling voor hele weekeinde. In te dienen na de vrije trainingen. Zoek het maar uit op zaterdag en zondag heren rijders, verkeerde instelling gekozen? Jammer dan, leuk voor de fans want misschien andere winnaar of teamgenoot die iets anders koos een mooie kans op succes enz.

Ik dacht dat Mol dit tijdje terug ook al eens heeft gezegd. Goed idee. Combinatie rijder/auto is teveel engineers/auto geworden. Dat moet weer terug naar de rijder.

  Radiocontact is een paar jaar geleden als aan banden gelegd, maar uit oogpunt voor de veiligheid weer van tafel geveegd.
  Maar ik ben voor, laat alleen de teams de coureur kunnen informeren, en dan alleen het nodige wat een gevaar op kan leveren voor de veiligheid.

De slogan van de FIA lijkt dit jaar bijna hetzelfde "Beter gehaast dan goed handelen". Er zijn niet veel raceklassen meer waar de uitslag van een race niet op de baan, maar achteraf door deze club wordt bepaald.
Een versobering en rechtlijnigheid van de reglementen zou mi de inconsequentie verbeteren. Daarnaast begrijpt de kijker een muur of grindbak ook beter dan de ondoorzichtige straffen die blijkbaar een zelfde functie hebben.

  Stel je voor: uren naar een race gekeken hebben die vervolgens achter de groene tafel toch weer een heel andere uitslag krijgt.
  
  Nee, de lol gaat er zo voor mij steeds meer af!

  Gaat het jou enkel om de uitslag Mojito? In dat geval raad ik je aan om na de race naar de eindstand te kijken.. Om de twee weken, twee uren extra tijd op zondag. ;)
  Ik vond de duels tijdens de 24h anders wel heel leuk om te zien. Dat de Toyota's gingen winnen bij de LMP1 klasse, wist toch iedereen al? Of het nu de #7 of #8 was, kan voor mij de pret niet bederven. Jammer voor de Ford in de GTE-Am klasse, maar ook dat kan de pret niet bederven. Bleekemolen heeft ineens niet minder z'n best gedaan.

Ze leren het ook nooit... Keer op keer zien we bevestigd dat de FIA en teams incompetent zijn als het om 'verbetering voor de fans' gaat, inmiddels staat de F1 zo ver van de fans af dat men zich er op geen enkele wijze meer kunnen verplaatsen in 'de fans'. Ik zou zeggen doe eens out of the box, ik weet het, het is een heel gek idee...

Vraag de fans wat ze willen...

  Ik vind dat de fans vetorecht moeten krijgen net zoals Ferrari dat heeft. Het vetorecht gebruiken is niet nodig, alleen maar (als fans zijnde) onze tanden laten zien is meer dan voldoende om een hel hoop bs plannen in het putje te doen verdwijnen.
