De Formule E gaat richting de ontknoping van het vijfde seizoen. De elfde van dertien races wordt vandaag (zaterdag) verreden in de Zwitserse stad Bern. Vooral opvallend aan het circuit is de absurd krappe ingang van de pitstraat.

Voor het eerst in het bestaan van de klasse wordt er met Formule E-bolides door de straten van Bern gereden. Bij het ontwerpen van het stratencircuit leek de pitstraat haast van ondergeschikt belang, want de ingang van de pits is bijzonder krap. De coureurs moeten hun stuur eerst anderhalf keer naar rechts draaien, om meteen daarna helemaal naar links te moeten draaien. Het gevolg is dat de snelheden op dat punt bijzonder laag liggen.

Gelukkig voor de coureurs en teams hoeven zij de pits tijdens de race niet meer op te zoeken door de introductie van de nieuwe bolides dit jaar. In afgelopen jaren stond er halverwege de races een autowissel op het programma, omdat de accucapaciteit niet een volledige race-afstand aan kon. In de trainingen en kwalificatie zou de ingang van de pits wel wel voor hachelijke momenten kunnen zorgen.
