Binotto geeft toe dat nieuwe vloer Ferrari in Frankrijk 'niet werkte'

Ferrari introduceerde in Frankrijk een aantal nieuwe onderdelen voor de SF90, maar men weet nog niet waar het aan toe is. Teambaas Mattia Binotto gaf toe dat het beeld vertekend is, omdat de vloer van de bolide niet werkte zoals verwacht.

De Scuderia bracht een reeks upgrades mee naar Paul Ricard, waaronder een nieuwe voorvleugel, achtervleugel en dus een nieuwe vloer. De hoop was om daarmee het gat richting koploper Mercedes voor een deel te dichten, maar dat lukte slechts mondjesmaat. Ferrari weet nog steeds niet helemaal of de upgrades het beoogde effect hadden, omdat de vloer volgens Binotto niet goed genoeg werkte. Daarom werd dat onderdeel voor de race van de bolides afgehaald.

"Ik denk niet dat we dit weekend alle antwoorden gekregen hebben, want de vloer werkte niet goed genoeg. Daar werken we nog aan en ook in Oostenrijk zullen we weer wat items hebben om te testen. We proberen het te begrijpen, maar dat zal pas lukken als alle onderdelen werken zoals verwacht", vertelde Binotto, die verklapte dat er in Oostenrijk dus ook weer nieuwe onderdelen komen bij Ferrari.

Leclerc verwacht sterker Ferrari in Oostenrijk

Na zijn tweede podiumplaats op rij hoopt Charles Leclerc op de Red Bull Ring wederom een stap vooruit te zetten. De Monegask is inmiddels drie keer op de derde plaats geëindigd, maar hij hoopt nu een keer echt mee te gaan doen om de overwinning. De Red Bull Ring zou daarvoor een geschikt circuit kunnen zijn, want met de lange rechte stukken is topsnelheid, het wapen van Ferrari, belangrijk.

"Oostenrijk is een van mijn favoriete circuits en ik denk dat het circuit beter bij onze auto past dan Paul Ricard. Hopelijk kunnen we een goed weekend hebben, maar het is een heel ander circuit. Ik ben er echter redelijk zeker van dat we daar een positief weekend kunnen hebben."

Toch vreemd dat Mercedes echt geen enkele moeite heeft met de nieuwe regels. sterker nog: ze zijn er alleen maar sneller door geworden. RB en Ferrari worstelen er bijna elke race mee.

  Dat hebben we in het verleden ook gehad toen Ferrari oppermachtig was (in het Schumacher tijdperk)
  
  Wat vooral jammer is dat de banden zijn aangepast in het voordeel van Mercedes. Zij hadden de grootste problemen er mee.

  @Arie ik ben sinds 1993 een McLaren fan en ik snak sinds Brazilië 2012 naar een overwinning. Vergeet een overwinning, een podium zou het zelfs doen!

Ferrari en leclerc moeten toch oppassen ,wat ik vooral bij Ferrari zie en in frankrijk bij vettel dat hij zijn er stint kon pushen tot op 3 -4 sec van Max dan haalt banden en plotseling zakt zijn snelheid op het rechte stuk met 20km/uur voor mij is het brandstof verbruik bij Ferrari een zwakpunt om die topsnelheid te kunnen handhaven tijdens de gehele race hebben ze geen brandstof genoeg daarom kwam vettel niet meer terug bij max.

Op die kartbaan waar geen lang recht stuk in zit zie ik Ferrari het moeilijk krijgen Max achter zich te houden.
Dus ze kunnen updates meenemen tot zij een ons wegen maar ik voorspel Max op P3. Achter de 2 Mercedessen.
