Kvyat: "Ik hou me niet bezig met geruchten over vervangen Gasly"

Daniil Kvyat wordt genoemd als vervanger van Pierre Gasly als de Fransman niet beter gaat presteren bij Red Bull Racing. De huidige coureur van Toro Rosso heeft zich echter niet met de geruchten bezig gehouden.

Gasly werd begin 2019 gepromoveerd tot coureur van Red Bull, nadat Daniel Ricciardo besloten had om naar Renault te vertrekken. Tot dusver vallen zijn prestaties tegen en na de zeer teleurstellende race in Frankrijk gingen er steeds meer geluiden dat Kvyat terug zou keren bij Red Bull om Gasly te vervangen. De Rus zelf heeft zich echter helemaal niet met deze verhalen beziggehouden.

"Ik heb dergelijke geruchten niet gevolgd. De geruchten komen en gaan, maar mijn werk verandert niet. Ik ben nu een coureur van Toro Rosso en mijn intentie is om nu goede resultaten te behalen voor Toro Rosso. Voorafgaand aan het seizoen zei ik dat ik mijn rijden wilde laten spreken en dat wil ik graag zo houden."

Situaties Kvyat en Gasly bij Red Bull 'niet te vergelijken'

Kvyat werd ook gevraagd of zijn situatie bij Red Bull Racing te vergelijken is met die van Gasly. Zelf denkt hij niet dat dit het geval is. "Ik denk dat de zaken destijds voor mij anders waren. Het is lastig te zeggen hoe iedere coureur zich voelt in andere situaties. Het is lastig om dit soort dingen met elkaar te vergelijken."

"Ik weet dat het in deze periode niet makkelijk was, maar de Formule 1 is nooit makkelijk. Er gebeurden veel dingen, maar ik had tegelijkertijd ook een aantal goede races. Sinds het moment dat ik bij Red Bull kwam gebeurden er meteen veel dingen. Over het algemeen was het oké. Ik weet alleen niet hoe het voor andere mensen is. Ik weet van mezelf dat ik nu een heel andere coureur ben dan in die periode."

Ik zou het mede ook om de ironie absoluut toejuichen. Wil Daniil wel naast Max zien, kan Daniil bewijzen dat hij dichter bij Max zit dan Pierre dat doet, en Max kan bewijzen dat de keuze voor hem destijds gegrond was door Daniil te verslaan. ik zou echt de ballen uit mijn broek lachen als ze het gewoon nog een keer doen. en dan rond singapore gewoon weer even op straat zetten. zijn toch weer 2 overwinningen voor Verstappen.

  Ik moest ff denken, maar idd. Verstappen heeft nog nooit een race lager dan P1 gescoord als Kvyat werd vervangen... Hoe komt het dan als hij de vervanger is

Ik zou het mede ook om de ironie absoluut toejuichen. Wil Daniil wel naast Max zien, kan Daniil bewijzen dat hij dichter bij Max zit dan Pierre dat doet, en Max kan bewijzen dat de keuze voor hem destijds gegrond was door Daniil te verslaan. In dat geval zijn het beide winnaars die hun gram halen.

En ik gun het Daniil zeker, ook omdat hij simpelweg geslachtofferd werd door de pech dat een zeer talentvolle Max bij Toro Rosso zat en dat RB daar iets mee moest om hem niet te verliezen.

Lijkt me leuk deze 2 naast en met elkaar te zien. Daniil heeft ook wel een geinige eigen personage.
