Maldonado ondanks moeizame start vol vertrouwen

Williams-coureur Pastor Maldonado debuteerde vandaag in een officiële sessie tijdens een Grand Prix-weekend. Op het circuit van Albert Park realiseerde hij in de eerste vrije training de vijftiende tijd. Na de tweede sessie vond de Venezolaan zichzelf terug op de achttiende plaats.

Alle begin is moeilijk, zo ondervond Maldonado. Het was lastig omdat ik het circuit niet kende en ik benutte een groot deel van de eerste training om de baan te leren. Bovendien was het wegdek nog zeer glad. In de middag concentreerden we ons op lange runs.

Over hoe de auto zich toen gedroeg zijn we tevreden. De lange runs verliepen goed en ik denk dat ik nog veel ruimte voor verbetering in me heb wat betreft de rondetijden. Ik ga vol vertrouwen de rest van het weekend in.
