Tweede seizoen Drive to Survive in 2020 op Netflix te zien

Er zal in 2020 een tweede seizoen van de documentairereeks 'Drive to Survive' op Netflix verschijnen. Dat maakte de Formule 1 woensdag bekend.

In de eerste reeks van de serie werden acht van de tien teams en hun coureurs gedurende het seizoen 2018 gevolgd. Het verhaal van het seizoen werd in tien afleveringen verteld. De serie kreeg zeer positieve kritieken, nadat de filmmakers van Netflix de teams en coureur van het begin van het voorseizoen tot en met de laatste race van het jaar op Abu Dhabi schaduwden.

Ook Mercedes en Ferrari werken dit jaar mee

Dezelfde producers zijn ook bij de races van 2019 aanwezig geweest en de Formule 1 heeft nu dus bevestigd dat er definitief een tweede seizoen van de show beschikbaar komt in 2020. Een groot pijnpunt zal daarbij ook aangepakt worden: alle teams zullen in 2020 terug te zien zijn in 'Drive to Survive', nadat concurrenten Mercedes en Ferrari besloten af te zien van deelname aan het eerste seizoen.

Beide teams zijn echter wel bereid gebleken om in het tweede seizoen present te zijn, nadat er in een eerder stadium aangekondigd werd dat het gesprek aangegaan zou worden. Ian Holmes, directeur mediarechten bij de Formule 1, vertelde blij te zijn dat er een tweede seizoen van de Netflix-serie komt. "We vinden het geweldig wederom samen te werken met Netflix aan het tweede seizoen van Drive to Survive."

"Het is een echt unieke serie die fans de kans geeft om een onzichtbare kant van de F1 te zien, waarbij zowel persoonlijkheden als emoties van teams en coureurs op en naast de grid de aandacht krijgen. Drive to Survive heeft ons een hele nieuwe fanbase aan laten boren en samenwerken met Netflix voor seizoen twee zorgt ervoor dat we verder gaan met het centraal stellen van fans in wat we doen en het meer open en toegankelijk maken van de sport voor iedereen."

Maar het meest kijk ik nog uit naar de acteerprestaties van die singer/songwriter van Mercedes. Dat gaat een dramatisch staaltje acteerwerk worden waar zelfs Hollywood ... [Lees verder]

Ik vond het persoonlijk wel gaaf dat ze wat kleinere teams meer hadden belicht. Al vond ik de verdeling wel wat gek. Het leek vooral om haas/ RIC te gaan...

Maar juist dat inside kijkje vond ik wel gaaf, als je ziet hoe die monteurs het beleven, of een teambaas. Van coureurs weten we al veel.

  Volgens mij was het ook het idee om Ric als hoofdrolspeler te hebben. Zijn weg in 2018 naar Ferrari of Mercedes. Maja dat viel een beetje tegen.. En voor de complete leek(+ de meeste kenners) is een overstap naar Renault geen vuurwerk natuurlijk. Ze hadden waarschijnlijk verwacht dat de jongens droom uit zou komen, viel dat even tegen.
  
  Maar persoonlijk kan ik niet wachten tot het nieuwe seizoen, er is al een hoop gebeurd waarvan ik dacht dat is een mooie voor in die serie.

  Zoals Lewis zelf zegt ' er is geen acteur die mij kan spelen, buiten ik zelf '.... bij deze dus zullen we een top acteur in het werk gaan zien ;) … Het ganse jaar zien we al een over actine Lewis bezig.. dus het zal van het zelfde laken een broek zijn dan.. het kan toch niet erger ! ? ..of wel ???

Mijn beeld van Steiner is door de serie compleet veranderd in positief opzicht. Leuk dat Fer en Merc nu meedoen.

  Ik heb de serie niet gezien en ik vind Gunther Steiner gewoon een leuke vent. Netflix had ik afgeschaft wegens weinig goede films. Ik zit eraan te denken weer een maandje netflix te nemen puur om deze show eens te bekijken.

Dit is een serie die heel gaaf zou zijn als het tijdens het seizoen uitgezonden zou worden.

Dus na 3/4 gp”s een aflevering. Kijkje achter de schermen juist bij de kleine teams.

Maar verder gaaf dat er een tweede seizoen komt.
