Verliest Vettel macht binnen Ferrari aan Leclerc tijdens thuisrace in Duitsland?

Sebastian Vettel lijkt langzaamaan zijn dominante positie te verliezen binnen zijn team. Het Ferrari-team draaide jarenlang om de Duitser, maar sinds zijn nieuwe teamgenoot Charles Leclerc in het team is gekomen wordt de Duitser naar de achtergrond gedrukt.

Eerder dit jaar zagen we zelfs dat de teamleiding openlijk koos om de Duitser naar voren te schuiven, maar inmiddels komt Leclerc op eigen kracht bovendrijven.

Statistieken

Als je kijkt naar de statistieken is het beeld van de laatste raceweekenden ook duidelijk. Tijdens de laatste drie races heeft Charles Leclerc zijn teamgenoot overschaduwd. Zowel tijdens de kwalificaties als races was Leclerc sneller dan Sebastian Vettel:

In Frankrijk kwalificeerde Leclerc zich als derde, terwijl Vettel niet verder kwam dan de zevende plek. In de race finishte Leclerc eveneens als derde, Vettel kwam niet verder dan de vijfde positie.

In Oostenrijk pakte Charles Leclerc zijn eerste pole position in de Formule 1. Zijn Duitse teamgenoot kwam niet verder dan de tiende startpositie. In de race kwam Leclerc achter Verstappen over de finish op de tweede positie, Sebastian Vettel finishte als vierde.

In Engeland wist Leclerc zich als derde te kwalificeren, Vettel kwam opnieuw niet verder dan de zesde positie. Doordat Vettel achterop Verstappen crashte wist Leclerc als derde over de finish te komen. Sebastian Vettel eindigde buiten de punten op de zestiende plaats.

Thuisrace Sebastian Vettel

Het kan tijdens de thuisrace van Sebastian Vettel een bijzonder moment worden. De viervoudig wereldkampioen Formule 1 had problemen tijdens de kwalificatie en zal vanaf P20 moeten starten, waarna Leclerc ook problemen kende en vanaf P10 de race aanvangt.

In het kampioenschap staat Vettel met 123 punten nog vlak voor teamgenoot Leclerc, die op 120 punten staat. De kans is echter aannemelijk dat Leclerc vandaag alsnog goed punten kan scoren en in het kampioenschap boven Vettel komt te staan.

Toekomst

Binnen het team veranderen de verhoudingen daardoor ook. De teamleiding zal mogelijk een keus moeten maken wie ze tijdens de tweede helft van het seizoen gaan steunen. Duidelijk is echter wel dat Sebastian Vettel dit jaar niet lekker in zijn vel zit en er net als vorig jaar geruchten gaan over een vertrek bij het team uit Maranello. Red Bull Racing wordt als eerste optie genoemd, waarbij Vettel mogelijk teamgenoot van Verstappen wordt.

Het spijt me GPToday maar als je zo'n opinie stuk schrijft zorg er dan ook voor dat de feiten kloppen.

In Frankrijk had Vettel een probleem met de auto tijdens de kwali tijdens run 1 run 2 ging hierdoor niet so geweldig, eens. Dat weekend was Leclerc beter maar zijn racepace was over de hele rac... [Lees verder]

Goeie statististieken.

Leclerc heeft dit weekend ook Vettel al helemaal zoekgereden door p10 te pakken waar Vettel nog niet eens door Q1 wist te komen. Sterker nog, Vettel staat stijf achteraan. De prutser.

Vettel gaat zeker niet vrijuit, maar het is duidelijk dat hij niet langer gelukkig is bij Ferrari. Het team blijft, ondanks de positiewissels van de afgelopen jaren, in een chaos hangen die schril afsteekt tegen de machine die Mercedes is.

Het lijkt het laatste seizoen in rood te worden voor Seb. Vraag is waar hij volgend jaar zit.

In Oostenrijk pakte Leclerc zijn 2e pole in de F1 en had Vettel in Q3 een auto probleem. Vervolgens rijdt Seb vanaf ronde 6 tot zijn 2e pitstop (de tijd waarin ze op dezelfde strategie zitten) zon 7 seconden van de achterstand weg inclusief waardeloze pitstop van Ferrari.

GB slechte kwali van Seb, racepace reden ze wederom aan een touwtje met zn 2en.

Ja Leclerc is sinds Frankrijk sterker dan daarvoor maar om nu te zeggen dat Vettel overschaduwt wordt? Vettel heeft sinds dst weekend ook zijn goede portie pech gehad.

Vooralsnog staat Vettel voor Leclerc in het kampioenschap. Ook Leclerc kan Hamilton niet bedreigen want het gat is te groot. Volgend jaar nieuwe ronde nieuwe kansen met Leclerc als 1e coureur en Vettel vervangen. Behalve als Vettel zich de 2e helft herpakt. Hij kan nog wel rijden maar voelt zich onprettig in de huidige auto.

Dat geloel over dat Vettel de kopman is moeten ze per zsm in de Ferrari/Binotto prullenbak gooien. De snelste coureur moet gewoon de beste strategie krijgen tijdens de race, en zelfs dat is bij Ferrari al moeilijk genoeg.

  Leclerc is een gevalletje omhooggevallen idioot. Doen alsof hij het team draagt, Binotto die in zijn reet zit, maar Vettel is denk ik nog altijd de stabiele factor daar. De 2-strijd in dat team is ongelooflijk. Van top tot teen, van monteurs tot directie. Er moet een streep getrokken worden daar.
