Alessandro Cinelli verlaat Ferrari en versterkt Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo heeft bevestigd dat Alessandro Cinelli het team gaat versterken en de functie als hoofd aerodynamica gaat vervullen.
Cinelli is de directe vervanger van Jan Monchaux, die deze week zijn functie als technisch directeur van Alfa Romeo begint na het vertrek van Simone Resta naar Ferrari.

Cinelli komt van Ferrari waar hij sinds 2002 werkte. Daarvoor werkte hij vier jaar bij Williams en één jaar bij Tyrrell. Cinelli was bij de Scuderia hoofd van de afdeling aerodynamische experimenten.

Cinelli kijkt uit naar de uitdaging

"Ik ben erg enthousiast over mijn benoeming bij Sauber Motorsport en ik kijk uit naar de uitdaging om een extreem getalenteerde groep mensen te leiden als hoofd aerodynamica," zei Cinelli.
"Ik sluit me aan bij dit jonge team met de missie om voort te bouwen op de solide basis die al is gelegd. Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat we de goede richting kunnen blijven inslaan en het team nog meer succes kunnen bezorgen."

Vasseur blij met de nieuwe aanwinst

Frederic Vasseur, teamleider van Alfa Romeo, voegde eraan toe: "Ik ben zeer verheugd Alessandro te mogen verwelkomen bij Sauber Motorsport en Alfa Romeo Racing. Hij sluit zich aan bij een sterk aerodynamisch team. De recente benoemingen laten zien hoe we onze structuren blijven versterken en een evolutie vertegenwoordigen, in plaats van een revolutie, van het systeem dat ons de afgelopen jaren heeft geholpen."

Cinelli zal zijn nieuwe rol bij Alfa Romeo op 19 augustus officieel beginnen. Alfa Romeo en Ferrari werken samen, zodoende kan Cinelli meteen starten bij zijn nieuwe werkgever.

Wat een onzin hier...
Alfa is gewoon een directe dochter van Ferrari.
Het is niet voor niets dat Kimi als ervaren eerste rijder naar dit team is gegaan.
Die is niet weggegaan naar Sauber, wat we in eerste instantie dachten.

  Nee in tegendeel. Ze hebben extra mensen aangenomen oa van Alfa.
  Dat laat ruimte bij Alfa achter en dat vullen ze door iemand uit de eigen gelederen de kans te geven om door te groeien en zich te ontwikkelen. Als dat goed gaat kan hij in de toekomst weer naar Ferrari gehaald worden.

  Maar gewoon als sterke rijder met veel kennis en ervaring om het team met zijn feedback vooruit te helpen.
  Ook de engineers en overige teamleden zijn onderling uitwisselbaar en worden ingezet daar waar nodig.
