Pirelli neemt hardste bandencompounds mee naar Brazilië

Pirelli heeft onthuld welke bandencompounds ze beschikbaar gaan stellen voor de Braziliaanse Grand Prix. De drie hardste compounds in het assortiment van de bandenleverancier zullen hun opwachting maken op Interlagos.

De Braziliaanse Grand Prix is de voorlaatste van het seizoen 2019 en het Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace staat bekend als een baan die veel vergt van het rubber. Daarom neemt Pirelli voor de zesde keer dit jaar de hardste compound, de C1, mee naar Sao Paulo. Daarnaast kunnen de teams aan Pirelli doorgeven hoeveel sets ze mee willen krijgen van de C2's en de C3's de overige compounds die geselecteerd zijn.

Dit jaar heeft Pirelli de keuze uit vijf compounds voor de slicks, C1 tot en met C5. De C5's zijn dit seizoen amper gebruikt, want alleen in Monaco, Canada en Singapore heeft de fabrikant ze geselecteerd. Ook de C1 is met zes keer niet vaak gekozen. Bij de meeste races koos Pirelli voor de combinatie C2, C3 en C4. Alleen van de Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi is nog onduidelijk welke compounds er gebruikt gaan worden.

Vind het maar raar dat Pirelli beslist welke banden er gebruikt gaan worden. Laat de teams dat zelf bepalen. Wordt het alleen maar leuker op. Ook gewoon weer concurrentie toelaten ipv 1 bandenmerk. Overal wordt monoplieposities tegengegaan behalve in de formule 1. Omgekeerde wereld!

  100% eens. En dan vind ik Pirelli's ook nog eens flutbanden. Gaan we weer: Pirelli maakt wat ze gevraagd wordt. Nou, ook onder m'n eigen auto's vond ik het helemaal niks. Gauw terug naar resp. A... en Y....... .
  En om -flauw- op de titel van dit stukje te reageren: 't Zal me worst wezen welke bande Pirelli meeneemt naar waar dan ook, als ze ze nou maar niet onder de F1 auto's zouden leggen.

Schijnt dat ze nog een vierde, veel hardere compound willen meenemen. Die banden worden op dit moment nog rond gebeiteld door een beeldhouwer.

We moeten het nu eenmaa doen met Pirelli en andere fabrikanten willen het blijkbaar niet aan.
Maar Pirelli moet niet zo conservatief doen en opeenvolgende banden gebruiken, die verschillen zijn te klein om het echt spannend te maken.
Ze zijn te bang dat een band te weinig brengt en misschien wel weer een keer klapt doordat er teveel van wordt gevraagd.. slechte reclame voor Pirelli, maar daardoor wordt de race ook niet echt altijd interessanter.
