Haas verwacht voor Spa oplossing in situatie rond Rich Energy

Haas F1 verwacht dat er op korte termijn een oplossing komt in de aanhoudende saga rond titelsponsor Rich Energy. Dat heeft teambaas Günther Steiner in Hongarije verteld tegenover onder andere GPToday.net.

De producent van energiedrankjes blijft de titelsponsor van Haas, ondanks de veranderingen die het doorging na de Britse Grand Prix, zoals een verandering van de naam en een nieuwe CEO. De naam Rich Energy stond echter op Hockenheim nog op de bolides van Haas en dat geldt ook voor de race in Hongarije. In de tweede helft van het seizoen ziet de situatie er mogelijk anders uit.

"Het blijft op de achtergrond rommelen, maar in de komende dagen of aan het begin van de tweede helft van het seizoen zou er een besluit moeten zijn en zal iedereen weten hoe het gaat. Jullie zullen zien dat ze niet op de auto als we niet met ze verder gaan. Staan ze er wel op, dan is alles goed", aldus Steiner.

Meer duidelijkheid over problemen met auto bij Haas

Het team rijdt in Hongarije wederom met twee verschillende specificaties van de VF-19, net als in Groot-Brittannië en Duitsland. Vorig weekend scoorde het team met twee auto's punten, waarbij Romain Grosjean competitief leek in de middenmoot met de specificatie van de auto uit Australië. Grosjean blijft van die specificatie gebruikmaken terwijl Haas volledig probeert te begrijpen waarom de auto met updates het lastig heeft.

"Het wordt duidelijker, maar we willen meer zien. Het was hier lastig terug te wisselen naar de andere specificatie, omdat er maar een week tussen de races zat. Er moet een modificatie doorgevoerd worden om terug te gaan naar de Hockenheim-spec, maar het was na de race nog niet duidelijk wat we moesten kiezen. Na de race wisten we iets meer, maar ik zeg niet wat. We racen hier echter met dezelfde auto's.

Dat is de oplossing Günther. Twee verschillende specs, dan komen ze elkaar ook niet meer tegen. En dan wel elke race ruilen, anders is het niet eerlijk.

  Vooralsnog lijken ze echter niet te ruilen, en dat zou je evt. dom kunnen noemen, want als ze wel ruilen heb je van beide coureurs feedback over de verschillende specs.

Ik denk dat het na dit seizoen wel eens einde verhaal kan zijn voor Haas. Het gaat daar niet echt de goede kant op, waarschijnlijk door gebrek aan geld.

  De vraag is of mr haas wel geld in het team wil steken is dan de vraag. Blijkbaar niet gezien de prestaties.
  
  En zo rijk is haas niet hoor. Zn bedrijf heeft wel een bepaalde waarde, maar f1 is heel duur zonder goede co sponsors. Het is niet voor neiets dat ze in zee gaan met een beunhaas als rich

Het is wel wat met Haas dit jaar. Ze snappen gewoon niet waar het gedrag van de auto vandaan komt en wat welke aanpassingen met de auto doen. Een soort black box op banden die ze ook maar niet in grip kunnen krijgen. Enorm frustrerend voor het team.
