Alleen Ferrari zonder nieuwe motor in Spa-Francorchamps

Ferrari is de enige motorfabrikant die geen nieuwe specificatie van zijn krachtbron voor 2019 naar Spa Francorchamps heeft gebracht. Mercedes, Renault en Honda hebben allemaal geplande upgrades naar de Belgische GP gebracht en er werd verwacht dat Ferrari hetzelfde zou doen.

Ferrari heeft wel nieuwe motor

Sebastian Vettel vertelde op donderdag aan GPToday.net: "Ons plan is duidelijk en dat betekent geen nieuwe motor hier. Voor ons ligt de focus op het begrijpen waar we staan en sterker worden. De regels zijn in principe hetzelfde als volgend jaar, dus wat we in de tweede helft van dit seizoen doen is belangrijk."

"We hebben ook een nieuwe motor, maar die komt later", voegde de Duitser eraan toe. Ferrari wil de bijgewerkte specificatie in plaats daarvan laten debuteren op Monza.

Geen favoriet in België

Ondanks de vertraging wordt verwacht dat Ferrari's krachtige bestaande motor en lage luchtweerstand configuratie zeer snel zal zijn in Spa en Monza. Maar Vettel ontkende dat het team de favoriet is, vooral omdat Mercedes een nieuwe motor heeft in Spa.

"Ik weet niet wat Mercedes heeft meegenomen, maar ik neem aan dat we er zaterdag wel achter zullen komen", zei hij. Vettel bagatelliseert ook Toto Wolff's bewering dat hij zich zorgen maakt over het waarschijnlijke tempo van Ferrari.

"Ik ben daar niet zo zeker van. Op papier zouden Spa en Monza beter bij ons moeten passen, maar we mogen ook niet vergeten dat we tijdens de laatste race in Hongarije veel achterstand hadden."

  T belachelijke is eigenlijk dat die motoren nog n hele klap harder kunnen dan aangegeven alleen zit men dan met t brandstofverbruik te kijken wat door de fia is gelimiteerd

Ja, maar Hongarije is toch echt wel een heel andere baan die hele andere eisen aan de auto stelt.... Dat vergeet Vettel voor het gemak even.....

  Bochtige circuits waar maximale downforce gevraagd wordt, daar heeft Ferrari het zwaar. Zo’n beetje alles na Monza dus.

  Dit klopt niet want ze hebben WEL de nieuwe specificatie meegebracht
  voor Haas en Alfa.
  
  Het gaat hier over de fabrikant.

Misschien kan Michel Bleekemolen of een van die volgers hier, die steeds riepen dat Mercedes ivm het terugbrengen van de spanning in de F1 met een teruggeschroefde motor rondreden eens een verklaring geven dat Mercedes dit weekend, met nog 9 races te gaan al met een nieuwe motor komen, die wat extra vermogen zou moeten geven. Dat rijmt toch helemaal niet met wat jullie beweren, dat Merc nog power over zou hebben en al helemaal niet om dat 9 races voor het einde te doen , zodat er dit seizoen waarschijnlijk alsnog gridstraffen voor Merc komen, terwijl dat niet nodig zou hoeven zijn.

  maar zonder gekheid, power is 1 maar belangrijker is de staat vd motor.

  Als die motoren "terugeschroefd" waren, dan zullen ze vast nog in een opperbeste staat zijn, ook geen reden dus om nu al te wisselen.
