Het Le Mans Series-seizoen van 2011 is vandaag begonnen op het circuit van Paul Ricard, Le Castellet. De organisatie maakte een grote fout bij de start, waardoor er een flinke startcrash is veroorzaakt.

De safety car ging niet voor het veld weg, toen de lampen op groen sprongen. De voorste auto's hielden daardoor in, terwijl de coureurs in de middenmoot en achterhoede dit uiteraard niet konden zien.
