De eerste vrijdag na de zomerstop zit er weer op. De vrijdagen worden vaak door teams gebruikt om de auto af te stellen en om de longruns te oefenen. Ferrari wist tweemaal het snelste te zijn, terwijl Mercedes de beste racepace heeft. De middenmoot zit erg dicht op elkaar, Williams moet vanaf een afstand toekijken.
