Todt komt verkiezingsbelofte van Formule 1-commissaris niet na

Jean Todt, president van de internationale autosportbond FIA, houdt zich niet volledig aan zijn verkiezingsprogramma. Daarin stond dat hij voor de Formule 1 een speciale commissaris in het leven zou roepen, maar daar komt de Fransman op terug. Het is namelijk niet nodig.

Todt vertrouwde James Allen toe: “Ik had voordat ik zitting nam bij de FIA een oppervlakkig idee van hoe de federatie in elkaar stak. Op basis daarvan deden we enkele voorstellen. De meesten daarvan leven we na zolang ze constructief zijn.”

“Het leek me een goed idee om voor elk FIA-kampioenschap een speciale commissaris aan te stellen. Maar we hebben alle commissies doorgelicht en als je voor elke commissie een sterke voorzitter benoemt, dan is een speciale Formule 1-commissaris niet nodig.”
