'Chadwick heeft keuze zat voor vervolgstap in autosport'

Jamie Chadwick werd afgelopen maand de eerste kampioene in de W Series. Haar plannen voor 2020 zijn nog niet bekend, maar volgens Williams heeft ze voldoende opties.

Chadwick was een van de achttien deelneemsters aan het eerste seizoen van de W Series en van deze coureurs was zij de sterkste. Chadwick won twee races, eindigde in totaal vijf keer op het podium en werd daarmee de eerste kampioene van de klasse. Ze verdiende met haar sterke prestaties in de W Series ook een plekje in het opleidingsprogramma van Williams.

Met haar titel in de W Series verdiende Chadwick een uitnodiging voor het tweede seizoen van de klasse, maar bovendien ook een prijzenpot van 500.000 dollar om een stap omhoog te zetten op de autosportladder. Hoe ze dat geld gaat investeren, is nog onduidelijk. Toch hoeft ze volgens Claire Williams niet te vrezen dat er geen interesse in haar diensten is.

"Ze moet haar plannen voor 2020 volgens mij nog onthullen, maar ze heeft een groot aantal aanbiedingen om uit te kiezen. Door haar resultaat in de W Series is dat geen verrassing. Onze eigen plannen met Jamie zullen we verder bekijken zodra we onze coureurs van 2020 vastgelegd hebben. Als we daar duidelijkheid over hebben, kunnen we gaan nadenken over de plannen met de coureurs uit onze opleiding."

Avontuur bij Aston Martin in WEC?

Chadwick is naast ontwikkelingscoureur van Williams ook onderdeel van het opleidingsprogramma van Aston Martin. Vanaf eind 2020 zal de Britse fabrikant in de hoogste klasse van het FIA WEC actief zijn met de Valkyrie en Chadwick wordt genoemd als een van de kandidaten voor een stoeltje in die klasse. Mocht dat nergens op uitlopen, kan ze dus nog terugkeren naar de W Series.

Is er zelfs geen F3 Teampje die het aandurft? dat zegt al genoeg.

  Ze testte vorige week in de Euroformula Open en was 13e van de 15 , maar dat is nu niet echt een sterk bezet veld, met Ahmed(vorig jaar 9e in het EK F3) als snelste

  Al ergens gelezen dat je ongeveer 1 miljoen moet hebben voor een beetje formule 3 team . Dus volgend seizoen weer kampioen worden en dan kan het .

  Bij Williams is ze vooral de Engelse “Carmen Jorda”, leuke PR volgens het team, maar gezien haar ondermaatse prestaties bij o.a. de Euroformula test vorige week is er echt geen enkel team die haar als een serieuze kandidaat ziet in welke serieuze junior klasse dan ook.

  dan zal ze toch eerst punten moeten halen voor de licentie en dus mannen moeten verslaan in aansprekende kampioenschappen en dat gaat echt niet gebeuren.

  In 2020 zijn er licentie punten te verdienen in de Formula W-series. Hoeveel is nog niet bekend, wel dat er veel dames mee willen doen. Voor een vrijdag training moet men in bezit zijn van 25 licentie punten.

  Ze hoeft ook gewoon niet te investeren en de 500.000 op haar spaarrekening te zetten. nog een jaar W series en die winnen en ze heeft een miljoen te pakken... tja menig WEC rijder krijgt minder per jaar.
