Channel 4 tekent nieuw contract voor uitzenden herhalingen en Britse GP

De Britse televisiezender Channel 4 heeft een nieuw contract getekend met Sky Sports, waardoor de herhalingen van de races en de Britse Grand Prix live op het open kanaal te zien blijven.

Sky Sports heeft de exclusieve rechten voor Groot-Brittannië en Ierland voor het live uitzenden van alle F1-sessies tussen 2019 en 2024, terwijl Channel 4 tot vorig jaar de helft van de race live uitzond. Dit jaar zendt het open kanaal alleen de Britse Grand Prix nog live uit, terwijl van de kwalificatie en de race herhalingen getoond worden. Dit zal door het nieuwe contract in de komende jaren zo blijven.

De Britse Grand Prix trok dit jaar het kleinste tv-publiek sinds 2006, omdat het botste met de finales van Wimbledon en het WK Cricket, maar dat was voor Channel 4 geen reden om van een deal af te zien. "Channel 4 heeft zich gevestigd als de zender voor gratis uitzendingen van de F1 en we zijn blij dat autosportfans van de sport kunnen blijven genieten door onze herhalingen en de live uitzendingen van de Britse Grand Prix", vertelde CEO Alex Mahon.

De deal is onderdeel van een grotere overeenkomst tussen Sky en Channel 4, waarbij Channel 4 'Sky's AdSmart-technologie gaat gebruiken om voor het eerst doelgerichte advertenties via de kanalen van Channel 4 Sales te vertonen'.

Is er een mogelijkheid om in Nederland via een legale manier (tegen betaling) de F1 te volgen via Channel 4 of Sky Sports? Ik ben op dit moment noodgedwongen om de F1 te volgen die Ziggo Sport, maar ik ben al die gasten bij de F1, met name Coronel, Mol en Plooij, kots en kotsbeu.

      Ik kijk via F1 TV pro wat feitelijk de Sky uitzending is. Echter wat wel jammer is dat je niet de voor en na beschouwing van Sky erbij hebt.

      Zult toch wel vanuit nederland een skysports abbonement kunnen nemen? Biet op je eige decoder maar via internet moet dat toch wel gaan?

      20 euro betalen bij morningstreams(high tier) ,kan je levenslang de F1 en alle sessies live kijken (F1tv feed) en zelf het commentaar van keuze (engels,duits,nederlands ,of alleen aauto geluiden) en een hele library met alle races in F1 die je op elk moment kan terugkijken .
      heb dit zelf gedaan omdat F1 tv geen Paypal accepteert ,en bevalt tot nu toe prima .

      Jazeker, hang een schotel op ( 60 cm is ruim voldiende) en richt hem op 28.2° Oost, neem er een Free To Air satteliettuner bij en kijken maar.

      Het niveau van het commentaar bij Channel 4 is zoveel beter dan bij Ziggo en ook wat neutraler, maar zeker niet saaier.
