Visser voorlopig enige Nederlandse in W Series, zes debutantes aangekondigd

Er zijn weer een aantal puzzelstukjes op hun plaats gevallen wat betreft de coureurs voor de W Series in 2020. Naast de twaalf dames die afgelopen seizoen in de top 12 eindigden, zijn er zes nieuwe vrouwen geselecteerd.

Afgelopen maand werkte de W Series opnieuw een selectieprocedure af om te bepalen wie er in 2020 deel mogen nemen aan het tweede seizoen van de W Series. Gedurende drie dagen werden er meerdere tests afgelegd en daaruit zijn nu dus zes namen gerold die mogen debuteren in de klasse. Dat zijn Ayla Agren, Abbie Eaton, Belen Garcia, Nerea Marti, Irina Sidorkova en Bruna Tomaselli.

Deze vrouwen gaan volgend seizoen de top 12 van het kampioenschap van afgelopen jaar vergezellen. Onder hen zijn regerend kampioene Jamie Chadwick en de Nederlandse Beitske Visser, die het kampioenschap op de tweede positie afsloot. Uiteindelijk zal de W Series in 2020 met 20 auto's aan de start verschijnen: de laatste twee deelneemsters worden op een later moment bekendgemaakt.

Gaan ze aankomend seizoen ook meer races rijden ?? Vond 6 races wel erg weinig

  Een DNF of een race met technische problemen waardoor je net buiten de punten reed en je was vrijwel kansloos idd. Voor zo'n klasse zou 10 races perfect zijn, maar de klasse is te klein om zelf hun kalender te bepalen denk ik. Heel erg afhankelijk van wie wil ons als opvul programma.
