Williams maakt na Grand Prix Abu Dhabi coureurs voor 2020 bekend

Williams heeft al een paar jaar moeite met de bolide en kent veel tegenvallers. Het team is nog steeds zoekende en ook de coureurs keuze die het team moet maken is niet makkelijk. Het team kan kiezen voor geld of voor talent, maar geld is op dit moment hard nodig. Claire Williams ontkent dat de laatste deelnames van Nicholas Latifi aan boord van de FW42 in de eerste vrije trainingen van Mexico en de Verenigde Staten een duidelijke indicatie zijn.

Williams wil pas na de Grand Prix van Abu Dhabi bekend gaan maken wie er voor het team mogen rijden in 2020. "We hebben duidelijk gemaakt dat we onze coureurs voor 2020 pas na Abu Dhabi zullen aankondigen."

Met deze uitspraak heeft Claire Williams alle geruchten opgelost die de laatste dagen waren ontstaan als gevolg van de deelname van Nicholas Latifi aan de eerste vrije trainingen van Mexico en de Verenigde Staten ten nadele van Robert Kubica.

Na bevestiging dat Antonio Giovinazzi nog een seizoen de garage van Alfa Romeo Sauber met Kimi Raikkonen zal delen, evenals Alexander Albon, Pierre Gasly, Max Verstappen en Daniil Kvyat de duo's van Red Bull Racing en Toro Rosso zullen vormen, is alleen een plekje bij Williams beschikbaar in de Formule 1.

Nieuwe reglementen goede zet voor Williams

Claire Williams denkt ook dat de reglementen wel de goede kant in zullen gaan vallen voor het team. "Ik denk dat we vanuit ons perspectief verheugd zijn dat nieuwe voorschriften zijn goedgekeurd door de World Motoring Council. Ze zijn alles wat we vanuit verschillende perspectieven wilden zien, of technisch en duidelijker de financiële voorschriften die tegen 2021 zullen worden ingevoerd precies zijn waar we wilden zijn."

Vettel en Hamilton als rijders en Verstappen als reserve- en simcoureur.
Maar even zonder gekkigheid, iedereen weet ondertussen toch al wel dat Russell blijft en Latifi instapt puur vanwege zijn centen. Vraag er als journalist er dan ook niet meer naar.

  naar verluid op een andere web log is Latifi een drama gebleken en zwaar tegengevallen in de Simulator en de tests dat men nu andere opties aan het zoeken is ,
  
  Hoofdsponsor Rokit heeft zelfs aangeboden het salaris en verschil van inkomsten op zich te nemen zolang er maar een fatsoenlijke coureur er in die auto zit om de vrije val van Williams een halt toe te roepen

  Ik heb dat artikel ook gelezen, maar de Latifi's zijn schathemeltje rijk hé. Bovendien heeft Kubica ook helemaal niks laten zien om nog een jaartje te mogen blijven aanmodderen.

  schijnbaar willen ze 2 fatsoenlijke coureurs die elkaar omhoogpushen , dont shoot the messenger , ik weet uberhaupt niet eens of dit artikel op waarheid berust , het kwam wel vrij stellig over
