Leclerc zou geen problemen hebben met Hamilton als teamgenoot bij Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton wordt de afgelopen steeds vaker in verband gebracht met een mogelijke overstap naar Ferrari in 2021. Charles Leclerc heeft nu te kennen gegeven dat hij er niets op tegen heeft als de Brit zijn nieuwe teamgenoot wordt.

Leclerc kwam afgelopen seizoen Ferrari versterken door de positie van Kimi Raikkonen in te nemen. Daardoor werd de Monegask de nieuwe teamgenoot van viervoudig wereldkampioen Sebastian Vettel. Verrassend genoeg was het Leclerc die de onderlinge strijd met zijn teamgenoot op vrijwel ieder vlak wist te winnen: hij pakte meer pole positions, stond vaker op het podium, zegevierde vaker en eindigde in het WK een positie boven Vettel.

De contracten van beide Ferrari-coureurs lopen echter af na afloop van het seizoen 2020 en er is een naam die nadrukkelijk in verband wordt gebracht met een van die zitjes vanaf 2021: Hamilton. Teambaas Mattia Binotto gaf al aan dat hij 'blij' is dat de zesvoudig wereldkampioen beschikbaar is in 2021 en Leclerc zou er ook geen problemen mee hebben om Hamilton naast zich te hebben bij Ferrari.

'Kan altijd iets leren van dit type kampioen'

"Natuurlijk", antwoordde Leclerc toen hij gevraagd werd of hij Hamilton zou verwelkomen bij Ferrari. "Uiteindelijk rijden we in de Formule 1 en willen tegen de sterkste coureurs vechten. Ik heb dit jaar een grote kans gekregen met Sebastian naast me, die viervoudig wereldkampioen is, en ik heb veel van hem geleerd. Je kan altijd iets leren van dit type kampioen, dus natuurlijk zou ik hem verwelkomen."

Zoals gezegd lopen de contracten van Leclerc en Vettel na afloop van het seizoen 2020 af. Dat geldt echter voor de meeste coureurs: alleen Esteban Ocon en George Russell liggen momenteel vast voor 2021. Ook de contracten van onder andere Max Verstappen en Hamilton lopen na 2020 dus af.

  Toch denk ik dat de jonge garde als Verstappen en Leclerc het oprecht graag tegen Hamilton zouden opnemen, ze zijn zelfverzekerd en getalenteerd genoeg...
  Zo was Lewis Hamilton destijds ook toen hij debuteerde naast Alonso,
  maar of Hamilton vandaag de dag nog zou willen plaatsnemen naast die jonge talenten? Hamilton heeft meer te verliezen dan die jongens, en niet in de laatste plaats zijn opgebouwde reputatie...

  Klopt Clemenza. Ik denk dat Max het inderdaad z'n achterwerk zal corroderen (z'n reet zal roesten) of hij Hamilton of wie dan ook in de tweede auto heeft zitten. Hoewel, hij zou het fijn vinden als zijn collega-coureur hem af en toe ook wat brengt m.b.t. de ideale set-up van de wagen.

Als Mercedes in 2020 niet de snelste is, moet ik het nog maar zien of Lewis wel gaat bij tekenen, en naar Ferrari zie ik hem niet gaan, hij heeft genoeg andere activiteiten waar hij mee bezig is.

  Ik heb toch het gevoel dat Hamilton, eerzuchtig als hij is geschiedenis wil schrijven en nog voor nog twee wereldtitels gaat. En dan die 8e wereldtitel behalen in een Ferrari?

Zou me niets verbazen als Lewis dat zou doen nu heeft hij eigenlijk een beetje de schijn tegen dat hij de meeste titels heeft gehaald door een onoverwinnelijke Mercedes . Als hij naar Ferrari zou gaan en Leclerc het snot voor de ogen rijd en dan ook nog even de titel zou pakken zou hij onsterfelijk worden door te laten zien dat hij het ook zonder Mercedes ( motor)kan winnen.

Nee dat wil ik absoluut niet . Ten eerste heeft ie er niks over te zeggen en ten tweede zou iedereen hem een watje vind als ie zegt wil ik niet . Echt zo'n open deur antwoord ( niet zijn schuld ) ze mogen wel wat orginelers verzinnen om te vragen
