Formule 1 noteert recordaantal bezoekers bij Grands Prix in 2019

De Formule 1 heeft de bezoekersaantallen van de Grands Prix van 2019 onthuld. Gemiddeld zaten er ieder raceweekend iets meer dan 200.000 fans op de tribunes, met Silverstone als circuit met het hoogste bezoekersaantal.

In totaal noteerden de 21 Grands Prix van 2019 een bezoekersaantal van 4.164.948, een stijging van 1,75 procent ten opzichte van 2018. Doordat er ook ruim 80.000 kaarten voor de Paddock Club uitgegeven werden, komt het gemiddelde bezoek per race neer op 202.146 bezoekers, een stijging van 1,85 procent ten opzichte van vorig jaar.

Met 351.000 bezoekers was de Britse Grand Prix het drukst bezochte weekend, op de voet gevolgd door Mexico (345.000) en Australië (324.000). Bij acht van de 21 races waren er meer dan 200.000 bezoekers. Vooral de bezoekersaantallen in Canada (14,69 procent meer), Shanghai (10,34 procent), Melbourne (9,86 procent) en Spielberg (9,73 procent) groeiden fors.

30 procent meer bezoekers in China

Het publiek op alleen de zondag van de Grands Prix groeide met liefst vier procent naar 1.771.106 bezoekers. In totaal waren er bij vijf races meer dan 100.000 fans aanwezig op de dag van de race en ook op dit vlak scoorde Silverstone het beste met 141.000 bezoekers. Het publiek groeide het hardste in China: bij de 1000ste Grand Prix in het bestaan van de Formule 1 kwamen liefst 30 procent meer fans af dan in 2018 in China het geval was.

Sean Bratches, managing director commerciële operaties van de Formule 1, is tevreden met de behaalde resultaten in 2019. "Onze missie is om het grootste racespektakel op aarde los te laten en de fans een ervaring te geven die ze nooit vergeten. 2019 is een ongelooflijk seizoen geweest en we kijken al uit naar volgend jaar, wanneer Hanoi en Zandvoort op onze kalender van 22 races staan en de Formule 1 haar 70ste verjaardag viert."

  Ik naar belgië. Wordt mijn 4e keer België. Wel denk ik de laatste keer België. Het is voor mij een soort vrienden-tripje. Vanaf donderdags staan we op een camping dichtbij Spa. En dan is het vooral feest en lol.
  
  Wel twijfel ik nog over welke andere GP het gaat worden, Monza lijkt me iets magisch, alleen het lijkt me als toeschouwer wat een te snelle baan. Of valt dit mee?

  Blijft altijd tof om met een leuke vriendengroep te gaan.
  
  De 2x dat ik naar Monza ben gegaan was ik alleen en zat ik voor de Parabolica, dus dat was een redelijk snel stuk. Gelukkig staan er genoeg schermen. Komend jaar ga ik denk ik voor kaarten in de Variante Rettifilo. Monza is wat mij betreft een aanrader, heerlijk genieten tussen al het Ferrari-volk. :))

  Om een GP echt goed mee te kunnen krijgen, kun je beter thuis op de bank zitten, met desnoods live timing etc. erbij naast.
  
  Maar het hele sfeertje! mega leuk!!
  
  Monza lijkt me echt gaaf qua sfeer, die podium ceremonie ook altijd! te tof!!!

wil niet als een 'vroegah was alles beter zuurpruim' overkomen, maar bezoek al sinds '92 jaarlijks (laatste jaren iets minder) een gp, maar waar het vroeger echt steeds een onvergetelijke ervaring vond is het tegenwoordig met de hybride wagens niet meer dan mwah, oké..
Blijft een gezellig event zo'n gp, maar maakt allang niet dezelfde gevoelens meer los..
Voor wat betreft seizoen 2019, terugkijkend vond ik het, op een paar races na dan, een vrij saai en voorspelbaar seizoen, hoop op meer volgend jaar!

  Je hebt het over vroegah... Maar mijn ervaring is dat er dit jaar relatief veel spannende wedstrijden zijn geweest. Nu is het natuurlijk ook zo dat er meer races zijn op de kalender. Maar in het verleden zijn er maar weinig seizoenen geweest waar ik zo vaak op het puntje heb gezeten.
  Het enige dat jammer was dit jaar is dat de kampioenschappen voor mij al we beslist waren na een race of 7.

  Over het eerste gedeelte ben ik het met je eens P.C. Ik ga sinds 2000 op bijna elk jaar naar een GP .. tm de V8's was het echt waanzinnig!!! Nu minder maar nog steeds leuk... ook qua publiek, vind ik in ieder geval.. toen waren het echte formule 1 fans.. dus voor elke coureur en nu ook meer dagjes mensen of zeg je dat.. maar dat is mijn mening.

  Ik vind het anders wel prettig dat mijn oren nu heel blijven en ik geen oordoppen nodig hebt. Geluid maakt voor de snelheid en dergelijke niks uit.
