Lammers verwacht geen problemen met huisvesten F1-teams op Zandvoort

Het compacte Circuit Zandvoort heeft weinig ruimte om de enorme uitrusting van de Formule 1, Formule 2, Formule 3 en Porsche Supercup te huisvesten. Sportief directeur Jan Lammers verwacht echter dat de teams ook mee zullen denken voor een oplossing.

Een van de veelgehoorde geluiden na de bekendmaking van de terugkeer van de Nederlandse Grand Prix was de vraag of Circuit Zandvoort wel in staat zou zijn om het volledige paddock van de Formule 1 huis te vesten. De geringe ruimte aan de binnenkant van het circuit zou daarbij voor problemen kunnen zorgen. Het probleem werd vervolgens nog wat vergroot omdat ook de Formule 2, Formule 3 en Porsche Supercup naar Zandvoort komen.

Lammers maakt zich echter geen zorgen. De geboren Zandvoorter, die de sportief directeur van de Dutch Grand Prix is, stelt zelfs dat er 'verrassend veel' mogelijk is. "We maximaliseren de ruimte. Als je met een open blik naar de ruimte in Zandvoort kijkt, dan is het eigenlijk verrassend wat er allemaal mogelijk is. Alles is op een goede manier toegewezen en de ruimte die de teams nodig hebben, is er ook", vertelde hij aan Motorsport.com.

Tegelijkertijd verwacht Lammers ook dat de teams mee zullen denken om het relatieve ruimteprobleem op Zandvoort aan te pakken, waarbij hij wijst naar de gebruikelijke handelswijze van de renstallen. "De teams zijn daar tegenwoordig heel flexibel in. In Singapore hebben ze een heel ander pakket aan bagage bij zich dan in Europa en dat zal ook voor Zandvoort gelden. Ze passen zich gewoon aan."

Want Zandvoort ligt ook buiten Europa? De teams moeten zich maar aanpassen?
Ze zitten dichtbij, maar kunnen niets meenemen., want er is geen ruimte voor hun motorhomes. Buiten Europa zorgen de circuits voor een onderkomen voor de teams.
Gaat Zandvoort dat ook doen? Zie het niet in de plannen staan.

  @Joep, dat klopt, maar waar moeten de teams op Zandvoort
  dan overdag verblijven?
  Jan Lammers heeft laatst al gezegd dat er voor hun motorhomes

  De F1 wilde graag naar Zandvoort, dus dit soort futiliteiten zullen ze makkelijk uitkomen. Zandvoort is de eerste race in Europa, een week later staat Barcelona al weer op het programma. Kunnen ze net als ander gewoon daar beginnen aan het 'motorhome seizoen'. Worden er zelfs niet complete motorhomes de Middelandse Zee over gevaren aan het begin van het seizoen?

  Ik zie het ook allemaal wel loslopen. Feit is dat Zandvoort gezien de historie een erg toffe is voor de GP kalender, voeg daar de Verstappen-mania op, en je kan gewoon (nederlandse oranje gekte kennende) een compleet festival neer zetten van een 4 dagen. In de F1 is vrijwel alles mogelijk. Werkt iets niet, maken ze het wel werkend.

  @Pietje, er is echt ruimte zat maar niet direct achter de pits. Daarnaast zullen ze wel een parkeerterrein opofferen omdat ze de meeste mensen op de fiets en met de trein willen hebben.

  Voorheen was de ruimte achter de pitboxen erg krap omdat er ook nog een verdiepte weg achter liep richting de paddock in de Tarzanbocht. Deze ruimte wordt momenteel ook aangepakt waardoor er zelfs met verlengde pitboxen méér ruimte komt dan voorheen.
  De grote paddock ligt weliswaar verder van de pitboxen vandaan maar heeft voldoende ruimte om alle klasses te huisvesten.
  Wees gerust, ook in Baku en Monaco (er was er nog eentje maar die schiet me nu niet te binnen) is er relatief weinig ruimte beschikbaar en daar hebben de teams ook geen problemen.

  Baku is een fly away race met faciliteiten voor de teams verzorgd door de organisatoren van die race(dat is in Zandvoort niet), in Monaco staan de teams en de auto's van de support races in parkeergarages met natuurlijk het Red Bull energy station in de haven op een ponton en de Porsche Supercup in de circustent.
  
  als er geen teamfaciliteiten gebouwd worden door Zandvoort zullen de teams toch echt hun eigen motorhomes mee willen nemen, en dan heb je ook de support klassen nog, dan gaat het echt heel krap worden want veel parkeerruimte kunnen ze ook niet opgeven(dat is er al zo weinig)
