'Samenwerking Max Verstappen en personal trainer Aliker ten einde'

Max Verstappen gaat in het nieuwe jaar samenwerken met een nieuwe personal trainer. De Telegraaf weet dat de huidige samenwerking met Jake Aliker beëindigd is vanwege privéomstandigheden van de trainer.

Sinds Verstappen in 2015 in de Formule 1 debuteerde, werkte hij samen met Aliker, maar aan die samenwerking komt dus na vijf jaar een einde. De privéomstandigheden van Aliker zijn recent echter veranderd, zo weet de ochtendkrant te melden, en dat is reden geweest om de samenwerking met Verstappen te beëindigen. Daardoor moet de coureur van Red Bull Racing op zoek naar een nieuwe trainer.

Verstappen benadrukt belang personal trainer

In gesprek met De Telegraaf licht Verstappen het belang van de personal trainer toe. Ook legt hij globaal uit hoe zijn trainingsschema ongeveer in elkaar zit. "Trainen, mijn favoriete bezigheid... Dat doe ik samen met mijn personal trainer, Jake Aliker. Hoe vaak we trainen, hangt een beetje af van hoe de weken in elkaar zitten. Januari en februari zijn altijd de belangrijkste maanden, omdat ik er dan voor moet zorgen dat ik fit word.

"Tijdens het seizoen ligt het tussen de wedstrijden door echt aan mijn schema. Soms vind ik het ook fijn om een week even niets te doen. Mijn trainer is er bij alle races bij, maar soms zeg ik dus ook: ik wil even een week alleen zijn. Op bepaalde momenten is daar de tijd en ruimte voor."

Op zijn Twitter zag ik dat hij informeerde naar een goede band voor een bruiloft. Ik neem aan dat dat de priveomstandigheden zijn waar het over gaat. Kan me voorstellen dat een gezinsleven slecht combineert met de baan als PT van max.
