Ferrari doorstaat als tweede team alle crashtests met bolide voor 2020

Ferrari heeft een nieuwe stap gezet in de ontwikkeling van haar bolide voor 2020. Het nieuwe chassis van de Scuderia heeft de verplichte crashtests van de FIA met goed gevolg doorstaan.

Dat meldt de Italiaanse tak van Motorsport.com. Voorafgaand aan ieder seizoen moet het nieuwe chassis van de teams vijftien verschillende crashtests volbrengen voordat het goedgekeurd wordt voor gebruik in testsessies en races. Dat is bij Ferrari dus het geval. Het in Maranello gevestigde team kan daardoor in alle rust toewerken naar de presentatie van 'project 671', die op 11 februari plaatsvindt.

Ferrari heeft de crashtests laten doen bij het testcentrum CSI in Bollate, dat onder de rook van Milaan ligt. Het team is niet de enige die daar haar crashtests laat uitvoeren: ook het in Zwitserland gevestigde Alfa Romeo heeft dat recent al laten doen. Zij kwamen met hun nieuwe chassis echter niet door de tests, wat als gevolgd heeft dat het Italiaans-Zwitserse team terug moest naar de tekentafel.

Ferrari zou volgens Motorsport.com het tweede team zijn dat de crashtests heeft doorstaan. Eerder zou dat Racing Point al gelukt zijn. Van de overige teams is nog onduidelijk of ze de tests al gehaald hebben, of wanneer ze de tests gaan afwerken. Daarvoor hebben ze nog ongeveer een maand de tijd: de auto's zullen halverwege februari gepresenteerd worden, zodat er vanaf 19 februari mee getest kan worden in Barcelona.

Geruchten gaan rond, die beweren dat tijdens de crashtest een paar vreemde kabels uit het chassis vielen.

  "vreemde kabels" .... het zou juist raar zijn als het "normale kabels" waren geweest. Ieder team zoekt naar voordelen. Of het nou vreemde vleugels, vreemde kabels of vreemde schroeven zijn... ieder zo zijn manier.
