Jumbo sponsort Super Friday tijdens GP Nederland: "Wordt een groot familiefestijn"

Er komt naast het Circuit Zandvoort een Dutch Grand Prix Village en de vrijdag van de Nederlandse Grand Prix zal door het leven gaan als Super Friday. Dat maakte de organisatie van de Grand Prix van Nederland vrijdag bekend.

Tussen 1 en 3 mei keert de Formule 1 terug in Nederland en Circuit Zandvoort is de locatie waar het spektakel gaat plaatsvinden. Organisator Dutch GP kondigde eerder al aan dat het weekend een soort festival-gevoel moet krijgen en dat wil men op verschillende manieren bewerkstelligen. Zo is er een reeks artiesten die gaan optreden tijdens het raceweekend, maar tijdens de perspresentatie werden nog meer plannen onthuld.

Ten eerste heeft Dutch GP onthuld dat vrijdag 1 mei door het leven gaat als Super Friday. Daarvoor kan de organisatie rekenen op de steun van Jumbo. De supermarktketen organiseerde tot en met 2019 vier jaar lang de Jumbo Racedagen op Circuit Zandvoort en Super Friday moet daar een soort vervolg op worden. Jumbo zal nog een actie opzetten om de dag voor een groot publiek toegankelijk te maken, maar de details daarvan worden later bekendgemaakt.

Lammers verwacht veel F1-actie op vrijdag

Sportief directeur Jan Lammers verwacht dat de fans de coureurs op vrijdag veel in actie zullen zien komen. "Normaal zullen de coureurs op vrijdag niet zoveel ronden rijden om op hun banden te letten, maar op Zandvoort zal je de F1-bolides het vaakste voorbij zien komen op vrijdag. Het zou me niet verbazen als ze op vrijdag meer ronden rijden dan op zondag, want ze zullen maximaal informatie willen verzamelen."

Doordat Super Friday tijdens de meivakantie valt, is het volgens Imre van Leeuwen mogelijk om die dag een integraal onderdeel van de beleving te maken. "Op andere circuits zien we dat de vrijdag er vaak een beetje bij hangt, waarbij slechts 15 tot 20 procent van de capaciteit bezet is. Wij hebben met Jumbo besloten om hier een groot familiefestijn van te maken."

Officiële camping op sportvelden naast circuit

Daarnaast maakte Dutch GP ook bekend dat er in samenwerking met Radio 538 een Dutch Grand Prix Village wordt opgezet. Op de sportvelden naast het circuit zal 'de enige officiële camping' opgebouwd worden. Plekken op de camping zijn via een arrangement te boeken, waarbij een 4-daags Brons passe-partout, een pitwalk op donderdag en een vooropgezette slaapaccommodatie inbegrepen zijn.

  in geen 950 jaar, voor dat geld kan je beter naar een andere GP gaan, voor 100 euro minder heb je bv een vliegreis naar Hongarije inclusief Silver kaarten en 3 HOTEL overnachtingen
