Initiatiefnemer oranje tribune Vietnam: "Denk aan Oostenrijk, maar dan in het klein"

Met minimaal 150 Max Verstappen-fans wil Hugo Luik begin april een deel van de tribune bij bocht 3 volledig oranje laten kleuren. De organisator van de 'oranje tribune' vertelde aan GPToday.net dat er inmiddels meer dan honderd kaarten voor de tribune verkocht zijn.

Vorige week werd duidelijk dat er ook in Vietnam een oranje tribune komt,

waar fans van Max Verstappen bij elkaar gebracht worden tijdens de eerste editie van de Vietnamese Grand Prix. Hugo is een van de initiatiefnemers en het doel is duidelijk: zoveel mogelijk Nederlanders bij elkaar op de tribune krijgen. Hij heeft het initiatief zelf op poten gezet en werkt daarvoor samen met de organisatie van de race.

"Wij zijn een stel gepassioneerde Nederlanders die willen proberen zoveel mogelijk Nederlanders op de tribune te krijgen. Voor ons is dit een hobby, wij hebben geen commercieel belang en we verdienen er niet aan. De doelstelling is eenvoudig: we willen een oranje tribune zichtbaar maken op televisie en voor Max Verstappen. Denk daarbij aan wat er in Oostenrijk gebeurt, maar dan in het klein. We hopen minimaal 150 oranje fans bij elkaar te verzamelen", vertelt Hugo.

Hoewel ook in Nederland woonachtige fans tickets kunnen kopen voor de tribune, benadrukt Hugo dat het initiatief vooral van pas komt voor bijvoorbeeld Nederlandse expats die in Zuidoost-Azië verblijven. "Voor deze eerste keer dat het georganiseerd wordt zijn vliegtickets en hotelovernachtingen niet inbegrepen: alleen kaarten voor de race zijn te koop en het is vooral de bedoeling om alle Nederlandse fans bij elkaar te krijgen op dezelfde tribune. Als dit jaar een succes worden gaan we er volgend jaar mee door en bekijken hoe we ook een completer pakket kunnen aanbieden", stelt Hugo.

Gratis pitwalk voor eerste 100 ticketkopers

Voor het initiatief werkt Luik nauw samen met de organisatie van de Vietnamese Grand Prix. Zij hebben op de tribune rond bij bocht 3 twee vakken gereserveerd voor Luik en de Nederlandse fans die zullen komen. Deze vakken bieden plek aan ruim 600 fans, maar het eerste doel is om de 150 fans aan te tikken. Luik verklapte dat er inmiddels meer dan 100 tickets voor de tribune verkocht zijn.

"We hebben met de organisatie van de Grand Prix van Vietnam afgesproken dat wij geen fee nodig hebben. Het geld dat ze normaal daaraan uit zouden geven, besteden ze nu aan t-shirts, petjes en andere merchandise die erbij komt. Voor de eerste 100 boekers hebben we kunnen regelen dat zij gratis een pitwalk krijgen op donderdagavond."

Het is ook de bedoeling dat er op vrijdag- en zaterdagavond activiteiten zijn waaraan de Nederlandse fans deel kunnen nemen, maar veel kan Luik nog niet zeggen over die plannen. De uitwerking van de ideeën voor deze avond worden in een later stadium bekend gemaakt via de Facebook-pagina.

De Grand Prix van Vietnam debuteert in 2020 op de kalender en wordt tussen 3 en 5 april verreden. Het is nog mogelijk om tickets voor de oranje tribune te bestellen. Dat kan via deze link. Voordat er toegang verschaft wordt naar de omgeving waar de tickets besteld kunnen worden, moet de code 'OGS2020' ingevoerd worden.

Zoveel mogelijk Nederlanders op de tribune is prima, maar doe mij maar weer de tijd waar alles gezellig door elkaar zat nu. Nu krijg je al snel belachelijke spreekkoren en coureurs die door een hele groep uitgefloten worden. Not my cup of tea

Zoveel mogelijk Nederlanders op de tribune is prima, maar doe mij maar weer de tijd waar alles gezellig door elkaar zat nu. Nu krijg je al snel belachelijke spreekkoren en coureurs die door een hele groep uitgefloten worden. Not my cup of tea

  Absoluut, ik hou een pak goede herinneringen over aan de raceweekends op Spa moet zelf geen GP zijn, 24 uren of WEC is ook een aanrader zeker doen!

  Helemaal mee eens. Was in Oostenrijk 2016 op de eerste Verstappen-tribune ooit, maar ben blij dat ik de jaren daarna in Monza en de Hungaroring gewoon tussen overwegend gemengd publiek zat. Veel mooiere sfeer, beetje onderling sarren, maar wel altijd respectvol.

  Het mooie van F1 is dat er geen twee kampen zijn die lijnrecht tegenover elkaar komen te staan.
  Gewoon iedere kleur en smaak kriskras door elkaar op de tribunes.
  Samen juichen, samen lachen en samen huilen.

  Nou, daar had ik dan bijna in mijn oranje "Wish i was ever as fast as my son" Sainz Sr. McLaren outfit voor joker gezeten tussen al die 7 Verstappen fans die toch toevallig in de buurt waren voor een loempiaatje.
