Haas F1 bevestigt: onthulling VF-20 op 19 februari in Barcelona

Haas F1 heeft bevestigd wat eigenlijk al verwacht werd: het Amerikaanse team presenteert haar nieuwe bolide, de VF-20, op de ochtend van de eerste testdag op het Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Dat bracht het team naar buiten via haar kanalen op de sociale media. Daarmee houdt Haas F1 een traditie in stand die dateert uit 2016, het eerste seizoen van de renstal in de Formule 1. Vrijwel ieder jaar is de officiële presentatie van de nieuwe bolide kort voor de start van de eerste testdag. Wel zet vaak een aantal weken voor de presentatie een aantal beelden van de auto online.

Vorig jaar pakte Haas F1 uit met twee presentaties. De eerste presentatie was destijds echter niet bedoeld om de nieuwe bolide voor het seizoen 2019 te presenteren, maar om de nieuwe kleurstelling van de auto te onthullen. Haas F1 ging voorafgaand aan 2019 in zee met Rich Energy, een samenwerking die halverwege het seizoen echter alweer verbroken werd.

De verwachting is dat Haas F1 op 19 februari naast de nieuwe auto ook haar nieuwe kleurstelling presenteert. Afgaande op beelden die het team deelde van het plaatsen van sponsorlogo's op haar trucks, lijkt de renstal te kiezen voor de vertrouwde kleuren die ook in 2016 en 2018 op de bolides te zien waren. De coureurs van het team blijven in ieder geval hetzelfde: voor het vierde jaar op rij zijn dat Romain Grosjean en Kevin Magnussen.

Kijk ik het minst naar uit.... Vanwege de enorme saaie kleurstelling die de bolide zal krijgen (als we de geruchten mogen geloven dat ze teruggaan naar hun "oude" livery).... Ook vanwege de coureurs die mij niet echt kunnen bekoren....

  Als ik het goed begrijp gaan ze terug naar de oude kleurstelling, maar hopelijk inderdaad niet de livery. De kleuren vind ik prima, maar de livery is gewoon te saai. Er zijn mooie renders van de Haas te vinden op het internet. Kunnen ze wel wat inspiratie van nemen.
