Williams bevestigt 17 februari als datum voor presentatie FW43

Over een kleine maand staan de eerste wintertests voor het Formule 1-seizoen 2020 alweer op het programma. Williams is nu het laatste team dat de datum van de presentatie van haar bolide bekend heeft gemaakt.

Williams presenteert de FW43 op 17 februari en dat doen ze om 9.00 uur 's ochtends. De lancering van de bolide vindt online plaats en om de fans alvast in de stemming te brengen, heeft het Britse team een kleine teaser op YouTube geplaatst.

Williams is ook niet het eerste team dat haar bolide zal presenteren: dat is Ferrari. De Scuderia presenteert haar nieuwe bolide al op 11 februari in een theater in Reggio Emilia. Bovendien is Williams ook niet het laatste team dat haar auto presenteert, want Alfa Romeo en Haas F1 zullen hun nieuwe strijdwapen pas op 19 februari tonen, vlak voordat de eerste dag van de wintertest begint.

Na een lastig 2018 en een zeer teleurstellend verlopen 2019 hoopt Williams in 2020 de weg omhoog weer te vinden. George Russell, de enige coureur die vorig seizoen geen punten wist te scoren, zal aanblijven voor een tweede jaar in dienst van de Britse renstal. Wel krijgt hij een nieuwe teamgenoot: Williams heeft afscheid genomen van Robert Kubica, maar verwelkomt debutant Nicholas Latifi als nieuwe coureur. De Canadees was afgelopen jaar al test- en reservecoureur van het team.

Ik vind de kleur rood verdacht vaak terugkomen in het filmpje. De bedrijfskleuren van Rokit zijn Rood/Wit, dus zou me niks verbazen als we die kleur terug gaan zien komen op de auto.

(misschien maken ze 'm expres Ferrari-rood zodat 't dan lijkt alsof ze ook vooraan rijden hehe)
