Green verwacht dat teams profiteren van grijze gebieden in reglementen 2021

De Formule 1 werd in 2009 op zijn kop gezet door Brawn GP en de 'dubbele diffuser'. Andy Green, technisch directeur van Racing Point, verwacht bij de introductie van de nieuwe reglementen in 2021 wederom een grote innovatie te zien.

Volgens Green is het niet meer dan logisch dat teams met innovaties op de proppen gaan komen. Tegenover Auto Motor und Sport verklaart de Brit dat alle teams hard op zoek zijn naar mazen in de wet en grijze gebieden die zij kunnen benutten. "Ik denk dat de reglementen op dit moment redelijk fragiel zijn. Er zijn gebieden waarvan geprofiteerd kan worden. Ik wil er zelfs op inzetten dat we iets vergelijkbaars zien als de dubbele diffuser."

Brawn ontwikkelde voorafgaand aan het seizoen 2009 een bolide met een dubbele diffuser. Met dank aan de vinding, die voor het seizoen 2010 alweer verboden werd, werden Jenson Button en het team wereldkampioen in het enige seizoen dat het team bestond. Voor 2010 werd het team overgenomen door Mercedes, dat uiteindelijk na de reglementswijzigingen van 2014 weer het te kloppen team werd.

Green vreest ook het feit dat de FIA in eerste instantie niet bij machte zal zijn om dergelijke vindingen te stoppen. Teams hebben niet de verplichting om dergelijke mazen in het reglement te melden bij de internationale autosportbond. "De FIA wil dat wij het doen, maar het hoeft niet. Je kan de regels pas voor het volgende jaar aanpassen, want je kan niet iemand tijdens het seizoen straffen omdat hij zijn werk goed heeft gedaan."

Die grijze gebieden zijn eigenlijk het mooiste in de F1, wie komt er met het beste idee.....geen idee.

Grijze gebieden vind ik dan wel weer leuk en dat is wat de Formule 1 zo mooi maakt , regels anders begrijpen en uitvoeren dan andere teams .

maar valsspelen door het verstoren van sensoren en dergelijke zodat de Fia niet kan zien wat de daadwerkelijke waardes zijn of loden balletjes bij je 2e pitstop bijtanken zoals bij tyrell ooit es gebeurde zodat de auto bij de weging na de race veel zwaarder leek valt bij mij onder valsspealen

  Bij mij dezelfde gedachte, de dubbele diverser valt onder je huiswerk goed doen, maar deze term wordt ook heel vaak toegepast op bewust valsspelen en dat stoort mij wel eens.

Ik heb het idee dat de nieuwe reglementen zo dichtgetimmerd zitten dat er niet veel grijze gebieden meer over zijn, maar ik laat me graag verrassen.

Zou toch een giller zijn als Williams daardoor met een schier onverslaanbare auto verschijnt.

Zul je ook nog zien dat Russell zijn heil na dit jaar elders zoekt en Claire voor '21 nog maar eens een nieuw blik laagvliegers opentrekt.
