Scuderia AlphaTauri geeft eerste F1-bolide de naam AT01

Scuderia AlphaTauri presenteert vrijdag haar eerste F1-bolide met de nieuwe teamnaam. Inmiddels heeft het team wel duidelijkheid gegeven over hoe naam die de bolide draagt: dat is AT01.

De afgelopen 14 seizoen kwam AlphaTauri nog onder de naam Scuderia Toro Rosso uit, maar gedurende het seizoen 2019 kwam naar buiten dat Red Bull-eigenaar Dietrich Mateschitz een ander product uit de Red Bull-familie wilde promoten met het team. Dat bleek AlphaTauri te zijn, het kledingmerk dat in 2016 door de energiedrankgigant werd opgericht.

Vrijdag presenteert het team dus de eerste bolide onder de teamnaam AlphaTauri. Voorafgaand aan de presentatie van de auto, die vrijdag 14 februari om 20.00 uur gehouden wordt in Hangar-7 in het Oostenrijkse Salzburg, heeft AlphaTauri wel uit de doeken gedaan hoe de nieuwe bolide gaat heten. Het chassis draagt de naam AT01, een simpele en doeltreffende naam die in lijn ligt met de manier waarop Toro Rosso de naam van het chassis bepaalde.

De presentatie van aanstaande vrijdag wordt in goede banen geleid door voormalig Red Bull-coureur David Coulthard. Tijdens de presentatie onthullen coureurs Pierre Gasly en Daniil Kvyat de nieuwe teamkleding, de nieuwe overalls en dus ook de AT01. Afgaande op de website van het team wordt er qua kleurstelling gekozen voor een grotendeels donkere look, hoogstwaarschijnlijk met witte of zilveren accenten.

  Gaat inderdaad wel een jaartje duren voordat het niet eens meer in je opkomt als je ze wilt noemen/schrijven. Had ik met Sauber/Alpha ook last van. Hetzelfde als met Force India.

  Het lijkt voor ons alsof er geregeld nieuwe teams in de F1 zijn maar eigenlijk zijn er maar een paar grote teams die gewoon om de zoveel tijd van naam veranderen ;)
