Deze coureurs komen in actie op de eerste dag van de wintertest in Barcelona

Over een aantal uur gaat het Formule 1-seizoen 2020 officieus van start met de eerste testdag op het Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Onder andere Sebastian Vettel en Max Verstappen beginnen vandaag al aan de laatste fase van hun voorbereidingen op de eerste race.

In totaal komen op maandag vijftien coureurs in actie voor hun eerste serieuze meters in de nieuwe bolides. Onder hen één reservecoureur: dat is Robert Kubica, die de ochtend voor zijn rekening neemt bij Alfa Romeo. 's Middags geeft hij het stuur over aan Antonio Giovinazzi. Alfa Romeo is daarmee een van de vijf teams die de lunchpauze gaan benutten om de auto gereed te maken voor een nieuwe coureur: de overigen zijn Mercedes, Renault, Racing Point en Williams.

Van de drie topteams is Mercedes het enige team dat beide coureurs in actie laat komen op woensdag. Valtteri Bottas opent het bal, terwijl Lewis Hamilton 's middags in de bolide plaatsneemt. Vettel neemt bij Ferrari de hele dag voor zijn rekening, terwijl Verstappen hetzelfde doet bij Red Bull Racing. De Nederlander komt vervolgens op vrijdagochtend nog in actie voor zijn Oostenrijkse werkgever.
