Exclusief: Vier F1-teams helpen in de strijd tegen het coronavirus

Formule 1-teams maken zich op om technologieën te helpen produceren om levens te redden in het coronaviruspandemie, zo heeft GPToday.net vernomen.

Vier F1-teams willen helpen

Mercedes, Red Bull Racing, McLaren en Williams hebben gehoor gegeven aan de oproep van overheden die de hulp hebben ingeroepen van bedrijven met expertise op het gebied van hoogwaardige technologie en techniek.

Onder de technologieën die de teams zouden kunnen helpen ontwikkelen zijn ventilatoren, die nodig zijn om de zwaarst getroffenen te helpen, aangezien het Covid-19-virus de longen aantast.

Het onderwerp werd gisteren besproken in een conferentiegesprek tussen de marketing vertegenwoordigers van de F1 en de teams. Aangezien de eerste vier races van het F1-kampioenschap al zijn uitgesteld en er een verder uitstel van de kalender wordt verwacht, zullen de teams met de nodige geavanceerde technische faciliteiten reservecapaciteit hebben om te assisteren.

Begin is al gemaakt

Deze teams zijn al begonnen met onderzoek naar hoe ze kunnen helpen bij de ontwikkeling en productie van diverse hoognodige medische apparatuur. De andere teams zijn bereid om te helpen waar ze kunnen.

Sinds gisteren heeft de Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie gemeld dat het Coronavirus wereldwijd 7.426 mensen heeft gedood.

      Tsja.... Goed dat de teams nu hun inspanningen richten om levens te redden ipv de bolides 0.003 seconde sneller te maken. Ineens lijkt alles relatief.....??‍♂️

      Wat ik eigenlijk wil zeggen dat ik het leuk vind dat Williams ook weer eens positief in het nieuws komt, zeker als de reden/oorzaak niet heel positief is.

      Kubica williams advanced engineering gaat het hier om... Waar zoon lief onderdeel van is. Deze tak van Williams doet al jaren mee aan maatschappelijke oplossingen. Een van hun bekendste is de Babypod. Gebasseerd op de f1 monocoque zodat baby's in kritieke toestand, veilig kunnen worden vervoerd bij een spoedrit/ spoedvlucht. Ook bij de overige 3 gaat het om hun techcenters... die eigenlijk gezien mogen worden als aparte organisaties, vallende onder dezelfde paraplu van hen moederconcerns.
