Leclerc en Albon toegevoegd aan line-up virtuele GP

Het aantal Formule 1-coureurs dat meedoet aan de virtuele Grands Prix die in plaats zijn gekomen van de echte races is gegroeid van twee naar vijf. Ferrari-rijder Charles Leclerc, Red Bull Racing-coureur Alexander Albon en George Russell van Williams hebben hun deelname aan de tweede virtuele Grand Prix van dit jaar toegezegd.

Dit drietal voegt zich bij McLaren-rijder Lando Norris en Williams-coureur Nicholas Latifi, die twee weken geleden al bij de virtuele Grand Prix van Bahrein aan de start verschenen. Komende zondag staat de volgende wedstrijd op het programma, aangezien eigenlijk de eerste Grand Prix van Vietnam op die dag plaats had moeten vinden.

Het stratencircuit van Hanoi zit echter niet in F1 2019, de game waarmee gespeeld wordt, dus wijkt het veld voor deze simrace uit naar het circuit van Albert Park in Melbourne. Andere namen uit het deelnemersveld zijn jonge talenten als Christian Lundgaard, Louis Deletraz en Pietro Fittipaldi, oud Formule 1-coureurs Johnny Herbert en Anthony Davidson en cricketspeler Ben Stokes.

Ach, waarom ook niet. Het trekt best wat kijkers en de piloten in kwestie lijken zich te amuseren.
Elk initiatief in deze tijden moeten we positief verwelkomen.

Zelf heb ik twee virtuele races gevolgd, met een Marko approach (met één oog dus).
Wild wordt ik er niet van, maar als het anderen plezier brengt is dat toch goed?
