Kaartverkoop voor Belgische Grand Prix op Spa opgeschort

Het lot van de Grand Prix van België is ongewis nu de Belgische overheid de beperkingen voor grote evenementen heeft verlengd tot en met 31 augustus. De race op het circuit van Spa-Francorchamps staat vooralsnog gepland voor 30 augustus, maar gezien de maatregelen vanuit de regering is de kans dat de race door kan gaan nihil. De organisatie van de Belgische Grand Prix heeft de kaartverkoop voor de editie van 2020 dan ook opgeschort in afwachting van een racedatum.

Vanessa Maes, promotor van de Formule 1-race op Spa-Francorchamps, kan niet uitsluiten dat uitstel in dit geval afstel betekent. Aan persbureau Belga deelde ze mede: "Niets is onmogelijk. Alle scenario's worden bestudeerd; uitstel, een race zonder publiek, annulering. Niemand kan zeggen hoe de situatie er over vier, vijf maanden uitziet. De gezondheid van alle toeschouwers geniet de prioriteit, daarom steunen we de beslissingen van de Belgische overheid."

"Dit nieuws zorgt uiteraard voor enorme teleurstelling, maar het organiseren van een sportevenement in deze tijden van crisis is zinloos. Vanaf vandaag zullen we samen met de regering kijken naar alle mogelijke en onmogelijke scenario's. We moeten de tijd krijgen om ons werk te doen en samen met experts en Formule 1-eigenaar Liberty Media uit te vogelen welke koers we nu gaan volgen."

De Formule 1-kalender voor 2020 dunt zo steeds verder uit. Eerder waren al de eerste negen Grands Prix uitgesteld of geannuleerd, terwijl zich ook donkere wolken samenpakken boven de Grand Prix van Frankrijk op Paul Ricard. De Tour de France is inmiddels reeds verzet naar het najaar en het grootste wielerevenement gold als graadmeter voor het lot van de Formule 1-race.

Volg al 20 jaar F1 en dit jaar zou ik voor het eerst naar een race gaan live (allerlei redenen waarom niet eerder) op Spa... ach dat jaartje langer wachten overleef ik ook wel ;-).

  Wel jammer Mr.Marly, maar een extra reden om het komend jaar dubbel en dik over te doen.
  
  Spa blijft een prachtig circuit. Vind alleen een heel weekend Spa én Monza iets teveel van het goede, gezien het feit dat ze direct achter elkaar komen. Heb ik wel weer geluk dat ik vanuit Limburg erg snel in Spa ben...

Het is niet te hopen dat onze overheden vanaf nu ook zo gaan reageren bij de volgende griepgolf, want dan kan er nooit meer iets georganiseerd worden.. Gaan ook elk jaar vele duizenden mensen zogenaamd onnodig aan dood omdat we elkaar allemaal aansteken in alle vrijheid.. Als de nieuwe norm is dat we dat niet meer accepteren dan moeten we elk jaar een aantal maanden in quarantaine met z'n allen met een verbod op alle andere vrijheden waar mensen bij elkaar komen.. De gezondheid van alles en iedereen voor alles toch.. Het nieuwe normaal.. Waar blijft die Corona app?

  Gelukkig hebben wij hier in Nederland nog een relatief soepel en realistisch beleid samen met de Scandinavische landen en Duitsland. Al die zuidelijke landen gooien alles dicht en is het vooral paniekerig beleid. Voorspel heel veel geld met veel nullen die ze na de crisis op gaan eisen.

  Overheden kennen het verschil tussen een griep en virussen uit de corona groep echt niet.
  Zij nemen slechts de beslissingen.
  Het echte verschil maken de virologen.
  Die app zorgt ook niet voor het verschil
  Gewoon aanvaarden en volhouden.
