Haas F1 Team vraagt korting op prijs van klantenmotoren

Nu de Formule 1 afstevent op een ingekort seizoen 2020 moeten de motorleveranciers de klantenteams ook een korting op de prijs van de motoren geven. Dat is de mening van Haas F1-teambaas Günther Steiner. In zijn ogen zou het oneerlijk zijn om een bedrag te betalen waarbij uitgegaan is van 22 Grands Prix, terwijl er straks misschien veel minder races verreden worden.

Steiner liet aan SpeedWeek weten: "Het is momenteel een agendapunt, de manier waarop we omgaan met het leasen van motoren. We kunnen er pas opnieuw over onderhandelen zodra we meer weten over de kalender. Het is voor zowel ons als klantenteam als voor de motorleveranciers simpelweg te vroeg om hier al knopen over door te hakken."

"Maar duidelijk is wel dat we bij een seizoen bestaande uit tien Grands Prix niet het volledige arsenaal aan motoren nodig hebben. Als we maar de helft of een derde van het oorspronkelijk geplande aantal races kunnen rijden, dan gaan we ook niet de volledige prijs betalen. De motorleveranciers en de klantenteams zitten in hetzelfde schuitje. We moeten tot een gezond compromis zien te komen."

Line-up

Misschien kan Günther Steiner zodra dat geregeld is zijn aandacht verschuiven naar de line-up van Haas F1 Team voor volgend seizoen. "Eerlijk gezegd ben ik totaal niet bezig met de vraag met welke coureurs we in 2021 zullen rijden. Eerst moeten we deze crisis zien door te komen, daarna kan de blik op de toekomst. Het is veel te vroeg om over de line-up te praten. Het is al een hels karwei om überhaupt te rijden, wie er volgend jaar voor ons rijden is het minst van onze zorgen", aldus Steiner tegenover Viaset Sport.

Tja, daar heeft hij wel een punt. Als je drank in slaat voor een groot feest en er blijft veel over, mag je dit ook weer inleveren. Goed voorbeeld zo voor het weekend :)

  Hij zegt iets interessants: het leasen van motoren. Is dat de constructie en mogen ze motoren na afloop van het seizoen niet houden?

Soms zitten er ook nadelen aan als je de hele shit moet inkopen. Heb het vermoeden dat het gezonde compromis heel eenzijdig is.

Als je minder motoren nodig hebt maar je neemt ze wel af, kan je ze ook verder open draaien waardoor je competitiever bent en meer prijzengeld binnen haalt
