Straten Maastricht vormen decor voor virtuele Grand Prix

Bij gebrek aan echte races zoeken veel coureurs hun heil in de simulator. Vanavond krijgen ze de kans om virtueel door de straten van Maastricht te scheuren. Dit evenement is georganiseerd door Andy Maassen en zijn firma SimFormula. DTM- en Formule E-coureur Robin Frijns zal in ieder geval aan de start verschijnen, evenals simracer Bono Huis.

Het virtuele circuit door de straten van Maastricht is ruim acht kilometer lang. Organisator Andy Maassen: "Het parkoers in Maastricht is uniek en met bochten, tunnels en rechte stukken niet zo eenvoudig als het lijkt." Het evenement bestaat uit drie online races. De Limburgse zender L1 zal vanaf 20.30 op televisie en de website verslag doen van de wedstrijden.

Naast Robin Frijns en Bono Huis zullen onder andere Xavier Maassen en Milou Mets deelnemen aan de Grand Prix van Maastricht. Het deelnemersveld bestaat verder uit simracers uit binnen- en buitenland.
