Heidfeld geniet bij Renault: "Ze hebben echt geluisterd"

Nick Heidfeld verdedigt sinds februari de eer van Lotus Renault GP. De Duitser vervangt bij de Britse renstal de geblesseerde Robert Kubica. Heidfeld ging er al vanuit te ontbreken op de Formule 1-grid dit jaar, maar onverwacht kreeg hij toch nog een kans. De overeenkomst kwam razendsnel tot stand en nu begint hij eindelijk tot rust te komen.

En het bevalt Heidfeld wel bij Lotus Renault GP. Het is heel snel gegaan sinds februari, waardoor het een steile leercurve is. Ik heb de meeste wintertests meegemaakt en daarna gingen we meteen naar de eerste races. De uitdaging om alles perfect te laten werken stopt nooit, maar dat gezegd hebbende ben ik wel onder de indruk over de kwaliteit van de relatie die we in korte tijd hebben opgebouwd. De mensen bij dit team willen je echt op je gemak laten voelen en veel vertrouwen geven. Ze hebben echt naar me geluisterd en ik naar hen, en dat werkt constructief voor de ontwikkeling van het team. Ik geniet van deze open en wederzijdse manier van communiceren.
